  1. Ahhh, Another Bluegrass boy. Welcome aboard
  2. Many thanks to all. I really appreciate it . Now, I just need to get to work Considering the cars were all very similar . Outside of exterior color - 4 spd versus auto. this should be pretty easy builds to do ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,should be . I know the slicks in the kits are technically wrong for the builds . And I knew the best rear slicks were the Johan slicks. And I doubt I have enough of them to do all these. And I know the AMT tires packages were to wide/tall for the years and S/S class designation to be replicated. Are there any other good sources for an accurate rear tire besides going aftermkt or is that my best option ?
  3. Ok, A couple more questions in regards to T bolts, whci ones were auto and which ones were 4 spds ? Al Means Ford car - 4 spd ? Conner Ford car - 4 spd ? Butch Leal car , pretty sure was a 4 spd car ? Archway Ford car ? Bob Ford car ? I found several pics of this car, some gold wtih black roof , some all yellow . Same car - different time period ? or 2 completely different cars? Tasca Ford car - 4 spd ?
  4. Great info. I will ck the Krylon color for the interiors . I looked thru my decal sheets and I have 2 different sheets for the Leal car. A white lettering sheet that has ' Frank Leal and Sons ' on it. And a 2nd sheet that has both white and gold lettering on it ( Fred Cady sheet ) maybe it does both cars ? I also have sheets to do the Archway Ford car, the Bob Ford car, Reynolds Ford, and the Al Means Ford I think I have my work cut out for me over the next 6 months (give or take 6 months )
  5. Many Thanks fellas. I will pick up the Tamaya paint next week if my local hobby shop has it, if not I will get some ordered. Already have the Champange color on hand ( used it for a 1965 Dodge Interior color ) I think these kits set the bar for Revell and I have maybe 10-12 kits unbuilt . Already have the Hubert Platt and Gas Ronda cars done.
  6. I guess no Duplicolor colors avail thats reasonably close ( reason being they are avail locally and one can will do several cars ) What about the Bob Ford car ?
  7. I am getting some ideas for winter projects and it's all Thunderbolts What is the best rattle can choices for both the Maroon ( and Gold ) on the Tasca Ford and the Phil Bonner cars ? Butch Leals car was black correct ? Was the Conner Ford car a bright white or more of a milky white ?
  8. Now, If we can just get a Dodge cab / body to fit the chassis and bed I would be in heaven
  9. Just got the email this morning. And plan to put one on order tonight . I have to assume it's just a straight re-issue of the mosty recent incarnation of the kit. No car included .
  10. 'Cuda' is just the performance version of a Barracuda. Came with high performance engine and suspension options
  11. Steel bumpers were chrome Optional were rubber coated bumpers in body color, some colors it also required a body colored grille as well Shaker bubble on a 1971 SHOULD be dark argent ( looks black ) , BUT I believe some slipped thru with a light argent color, NO body color shaker was avail on a 1971 ( thats an early 1970 thing ) The 2 inlet grilles themselves on a shaker bubble should always be black regardless of year or shaker color Decklid mounted spoiler was optional ( ONLY avail in black btw ) Rear panel between the tail lights is body color on a 1971 barracuda, Silver argent on a Barracuda ' Gran Coupe '. Black only on a ' Cuda '
  12. If it's a factory color it's probably QQ1 ( EB5 is a 1969 - 1970 color only . The 2 colors are very close but are different shades of blue if side by side Plus it looks to light to be EE1 which was a darker blue avail on a 1968 . I'll have to find the can but I think this one came out pretty close to what your after It's a duplicolor rattle can edit - found the can - Duplicolor BGM0533 Bahama Blue Metallic
  13. Something I still don't understand about this particular thread ( or similar threads about un-available products ) How can the kit be discussed accuratly or positivly.????? It's not out yet
  14. Given the costs to produce a kit from scratch to reality remains un-disclosed at this point. But, I have my doubts the manufacturer makes anything near $5 per kit . Manufacturers sell in hundreds or even thousands of kits per order to wholesalers . They make there money on bulk orders
  15. saweeeeet love the color combo
  16. This is the only Arrow build I have ever seen, just a tad rich for my tastes and budget (not mine nor do I know the seller ) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Built-Butch-Leal-California-Flash-Plymouth-Arrow-/290958851012?hash=item43be7fbbc4&nma=true&si=vzhKQMU0%252FjJOYtodvuBmOQsn26E%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  17. Johan 1969 Road runners ( i've got 5 or 6 ) Johan Sox and Martin 1971 Cuda ( I think I have 4 or 5 ) Johan 1963 Dodge 330's ( i've got 2 and actively looking for more - all builtups ) Johan 1962 Dodge AND 1962 Plymouths ( I have 2 or 3 of ea) MPC Barry Setzer Vega funnycar ( I think I have 3 or 4 - all builtups )
  18. Looking real good. keep em coming, I read somewhere this kit has chassis to body fitment issues so I am watching real close to see if thats the case or not. As I've got this exact same build in the que for myself ,,,and soon
  19. I'll agree to that. I use to walk in our local toy store ( Johnnys Toys in Latonia Ky ) probably late 70's to early 80's time frame And there would be dozens of Johan kits that would just sit and sit . One time I walked in and they had them marked down to half price . I bought several 1969 Roadrunners and 1971 Sox+Martin Cudas for less than $5 each ( still have them all btw ) If it wasn't a mustang, camaro or chevelle kit it seems everything else was left to collect dust
  20. You would have to read the story behind it. But,,,If I remember right( it's been a while as I've known of this car for several years) But I think the original owner was a tad bit ,,,eccentric / different
  21. That was my first thought,,but for a reasonably accurate 1/25th scale passenger car kit . And considering the complexity of kits today , I would bet just the tooling is near 250K If I had to wager a guess, from initial design/develpoment to a final production kit , but I'll wager a guess of between 750K and 1 million ???? but I'm guessing.
  22. Outside of JJ I can't think of any other known racer who ran a vega wagon ?????
  23. Not that I'm aware of. I did one for myself a few years back,,,,,,just never finished it . Body(painted) with tail panel is done but thats as far as it went. I started with the AMT 1968 Roadrunner . I tried a couple different times to make the grille and the seat patterns (both are 1968 only ) and finally just threw in the towel and stuck it in a box till another day,,,that day hasn't come yet.
  24. No, I am referring to the 2 smaller scoops on the doors of every 1968-1970 charger Not the single large scoop on 1970 Charger R/T only
