  1. Even though I have several I really like and am proud of, this one is hands down my personal favorite, bar none. Original Issue MPC kit. But straight out of the box. I bought/built one of these new back in the day and lost it in a house fire back in the mid 70's . So when the opportunity presented itself to get a started kit a few years ago, I grabbed it and finished it( SO much better than the one back in the day was i might add)
  2. Actually it's not that hard of a conversion to do . I have this one on the shelf to do a 1968 Hemi Cuda Mule car ,,someday If I remember right , I cut it right in ft of the rear spring hanger torque boxes and took maybe an 1/8"-3/16" out of it . Then narrowed it behind the rear wheel wells
  3. Chuck, keep it up and your gonna gonna get a good chunk of my toy fund. If I may make one suggestion,,,make the name lettering on the door a seperate decal ,,,,,,if thats possible ?
  4. Can I make a couple suggestions for another decal sheet ,,,,,pretty please. I am already working on the hood to fit the Revell body or
  5. ps, the bottom picture is not a 1970 Cuda,,looks like a duster to me
  6. Me likey. I might have to get me one of these bodies I am pretty certain 14" wheels would have been the only one avail on a wagon .
  7. So far so good, and just as an FYI, the wheelbase of the chassis is these mustangs doesn't match the wheelbase of the body if that matters to you
  8. Swaeeet I've had this same car on my todo list for some time,,sadly thats as far as it's ever gone. so I'll ck'ing in to watch
  9. I think this one was ,, but it was before Maverick took over driving duties
  10. Yep, the text color and layout is different between the red versus blue cars( blue is 1968 - red is 1969 cars ) Alan when they're ready, pm me I'll take a sheet to do either the AA/FC or the SS car ( actually prefer sheets to do both cars ) Any chance of the Gene Snow decals ? pretty please ......
  11. A little insperation for ya
  12. What was supposed to be a simple weekend slump buster - busted my rump. I got so disgusted with this one I nearly dropped it in the trash can at midpoint. Painted and stripped TWICE. had fitment issues with the engine,,,,. had decal problems from the word go. so on so on so on . Once it made a decent appearing car I slammed it together and put it in the case ,,probably never to come out again.
  13. So far so good. just an fyi, the elastomaric bumpers do not have bumper bolts visible like the kit depicts . so if it matters , sand them off and repaint the bumper,,,again not bashing just an observation
  14. Floorpans were a grey / blueish looking primer EXCEPT LA plant build cars. They were a very dark grey - almost black primer . NONE were ever body color except the some overspray along the rockers and in the wheel well areas as mentioned
  15. I built one several years ago and to this day it's one of my favorites. You'll like it . It's a pretty simple straight forward kit that displays well
  16. I now have 3 of these kits , none have chrome issues , none had decal issues .
  17. Looking REAL good so far
  18. A ft rubber bumper could be had with a chrome rear or rubber rear But a rubber rear was ONLY avail with a rubber front
  19. This the main reason for my personal dis-apointment in this release. Although I have 3 of them now . From here out I'll wait and see if anything is rectified in the future to correct it before I buy any more So glad I didn't sell off my original MPC issues. IMO, I have my doubts this release will do any damage to the value of said MPC issue
  20. I've got a few that I would like to take apart for a redo,,,,,,,,but,,, the list of unbuilts I want to do is too long to allow that to happen in the forseeable future
  21. What is this unknown term ' finished ' ????? In all seriousness if i had to guess maybe 3 or 4 with maybe 6 tops In recent years if I get more than one done in a 12 month span I call it a good year
  22. The only one I can think of that gained any kind of notoriety and was considered to be anything close to stock bodied was the Al Eckstrand car ( Lawman ) Tickle Me Pink, Color Me Gone and Stardust cars were all basically funnycars
  23. 99% of the time I get everything locally. BUT, just recently had to order 2 cans of paint online. As I couldn't find it anywhere locally. And at almost $18 with postage added in,,,, never again. I'll have my local hobby shop order if they can, otherwise I'll make due with something else
  24. I thought I had a pic showing the '68 car with the drivers door open, but for the life of me I can't find it. Plus I've looked for the past hour online and cant find it either. I did find a few decent pictures showing the door lines with the exterior door handle in place
