  1. Actually , other than the name on the door not much of the lettering is the same between the 2 cars the red car was sponsored by Saddleback Dodge And the blue car was sponsored by Crenshaw Dodge,,,OR Atlantic Dodge dealers sponsored. ps, I 've often wondered if both the red/silver 69 and the blue/silver 68 were actually one and the same,,just updated / repainted for new model year changes . my apologies to the op for the hijack
  2. It is ,,it's all plastic. And thanks, but I didn't build it. I just did some repairs and put it in the case . so I can't take full credit for it
  3. privately done . - Mantaray Factory done - the Lincoln Futura
  4. I for one would really like to see the decals become avail to do both of Charlie Allens 1968 cars. There was a SS in addition to the AA/FC This is the builtup I have. to be honest I bought it as a mostly done car, just did some touchup work and minor re-assembly on it and put it in the case. I have a 2nd one in decent shape along with a Resin 68 Body to do the blue car if/when the decals become avail ..( I have my fingers crossed ) This is one of my all time favorite cars so I plan to keep close tabs on this thread
  5. Btw, This is one of my holy grail kits as well. And have a builtup in the case
  6. ps, the grille your installing is for a 1968 ( round turn signal lenses ) , which for the Charlie Allen car is the blue and silver car. and as far as I know,,,no one makes decals to replicate the blue car. The red 1969 car has rectangular turn signal lenses
  7. FYI, to bump up an old thread I was in Smyths Automotive yesterday ( local auto parts chain ) and they had Wimbelton White in the Duplicolor rattle cans on the shelf . so I picked up 2 cans and plan is get a few bodies painted in the next few weeks . I want to do the Conner Ford and Archway Ford cars first
  8. I like it , real nice color I did one of these back in the late 80's Only mine was more of a keep it on the ground and go fast themes
  9. Very Very nice. I so wish Round2 would bring this kit back out.
  10. I use Duplicolor ( and plasticote engine paint ) engine enamel all the time. like mentioned a good primier first is all thats required
  11. I've used the Duplicolor chrome paint before, It's not chrome but does give more a polished aluminum look I was after These interior tins were painted this way
  12. Only reason I can think they would be different is the Mr Norm cars were a GSS A - the Hemi Dart is just a plain 1968 Dart. The 1968 Dart kit is a GTS Dart That said the only differences are the lettering nameplate on the side of the ft fender ( and the GTS has a unique rear trunk finish panel applique)
  13. No dis-respect to the owner or builder of said ratrod. But , they all look like they drug the junk out of the pond and got it running. No I am not a fan BUT, the world would be kind of boring if we all liked the same thing
  14. The hood is the same between a charger 500 versus a regular charger,,,only the Daytona has a unique hood (it's almost the same as 1970 Charger )
  15. Ditto, If you don't mind how well does the red paint color match the red lettering of the decals?
  16. Interior is exactly the same as the regular 1969 Charger
  17. I used to have a clear bodied J car kit ( sold it looooong time ago) had to find a picture on the net . I think all the MPC 1968 thru 1970 Charger kits had a clear hood ( maybe even the 68-69 Coronet kits as well ) Polar lights did the clear bodied funnycar kits and they had a translucent bodies as well
  18. 1965 to 71 Dodge pickup 1957 to 59 Desoto Adventurer 1960-61 Chrysler 300 1957 thru 1959 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer an acurate 1968 AND 1969 Coronet Can you tell where my interests lie?
  19. Looks good, I think this is the 1st Charger kit I've ever seen built I have one of the barracudas in process,,,,,but I have't got much model bench time the last couple of years. Only in the secondary market.. It's been years since I've seen one of the red bodies. The clear ones are not real hard to find though,,,but do command a slight premium over the white pastic versions. If you get lucky and find a red one it's gonna hurt. There was a clear red barracuda body as well,,same way tough to find.
  20. I've got a couple Johan superbirds in green ,,and a couple of the 63 Fury kits in green and I think one of my Challenger funnycar kits is green Btw, I have never seen a Johan 1969 Roadrunner kit molded in green . they are usually, white, off white, yellow , red or orange
  21. A good question is,,,,, is this the same car? If so ,,,is it before or after the Ramchargers paint scheme?
  22. Bought this one as a builtup a loooong time ago . It was brushed painted some horrid looking green color. Stripped it in brake fluid and all the paint practically fell off leaving near pristine bare white plastic. So I just polished it and left it white. I need to find some tail lights and a steering wheel for it someday
  23. I like this one a lot. Very well done build of a kit thats getting tough to come up with
