Having flipped / resold dozens of kits over the years considering how many kits I have and/or sold at a loss . I have serious doubts I'm in the black. If I seel a kit , as long as I'm happy withmy sale price, I could care less what the new owner does or doesn't do with it. If he thinks they can re-sell it at a profit , all the power to them. If I'm buying and I'm happy with my purchase price, I could care less what the seller made on it.

I have decals to do maybe 3 or 4 more cars, but I know there are more decals than that avail. This is just off the top of my head and I have 'most' of these on hand to do,, or already done. Well, until I find some of the smaller sponser decals it needs. And do some small touchup for some nicks in the paint. I'm calling this one, done. Decals came from Decals By Lucas. And I highly recomend them. Paint is simple Duplicolor rattle can with UPOL rattle can urethane clear over it Except for the decals and A pre-wired dist from MAD. , it's essentially box stock . I have to admit,, This is the 1st model I've done completely start to finish this decade. But I'm happy with it. And it looks killer with the others on the shelf. Hope you like it . Bill

Nope, Monogram hood is wider and longer.,,,, maybe 1/8" each way. It can be narrowed a bit to solve the width part. But I think then the width of the scoop becomes a factor for scale .Then the raised center section of the hood is to long to shorten the hood to make it work -

Although there were exceptions,, most funnycar bodies back then used an overall stock length body ( measured bumper to bumper ) with just the ft wheelwells moved forward to accomodate the longer wheelbase. -

Not sure that I agree , but i'll give it to you. I will say both scales have there place. I choose 1/25th scale simply because most of what I build are older kits,, which in most cases is all there was back then. Case in point, set a MPC/AMT Daytona kit along side a Monogram Superbird and the differences are huge Here's a scenario most builders face. Your trying to put a replica stock shelf of Mopar kits together of each model - each year. You buy the Monogram 1969 Superbee and a 1970 GTX kit to fill some holes , You already have the AMT 1968 Roadrunner , AMT 1969 GTX and an AMT 1970 Superbee done. Once you put the builds all on one shelf and the different scales stick out like a sore thumb. This exact scenario has me looking for a Johan 1970 GTX and MPC 1969 Coronet builders Here is a solid comparison of 2 kits. 1/24th scale Monogram 1970 GTX (lime light car) versus 1/25th scale Johan 1970 Roadrunner( same as a gtx btw) There is easily a 7/16" to 1/2" difference in overal length and I would say 3/16" difference in width of the body measured at the widest point on each -

White body is monogram 1970 Cuda body , which is considered/accepted to be reasonably accurate for the subject matter. Yellow painted body is an original MPC 1970 Cuda , again considered to be the benchmark dimensions wise OAL is nearly 3/8" of difference. width is about 3/16" difference . -

I have 2 of the re-issues on the shelf, one WILL be built the way I did it as a kid back when it first came out.The other will remain unbuilt ,,,,,,,just because . I don't care how accurate it is,, or isn't. It's part of my youth And the box art is just to cool

My primary interest is in building old kits( late 60-s to mid 70's kits) My primary interests are in the same years and modern kits don't exist of the subject matter once a couple projects get finished up. I have a Johan 1962 and 1963 Dodges and a 1962 Plymouth to do. -

Turn the lights out a come back when the urge hits. My longest hiatus ,,, lasted 10 years. Untill last night I hadn't touched a model in almost a month. Kids and there activities , plus starting a business will do that. I get to work that works on the 1/1 scale versions. It's great , I get to play with old muscle cars and spend other peoples money. -

I think I still have the photo etched kit these came on in my parts drawer. so I am good on the bezels, but thanks. I don't remember if it was scale auto or modelcars. it was just a smalll blip with part of a contest coverage section. w When I did the shows back then it did very well. But the hobby has advanced so far, Today it wouldn't even get a second look. -
Hers another one from the back of the shelf. This one was built right ater the kit was introduced in the early-mid 90's. AMT Daytona body and interior with the AMT 1968 roadrunner chassis . Body was heavily modified to get the nose to fit and look right. Painted in F6 bright green base coat with a urethane clear , all air brushed on. Interior is just testors white with a dullcoat clear. Lots of photo etched parts underhood,,, including working hood pins and lanyards.( the bezels have gone missing from the hood ) Nose center grille is a screen mesh and painted to match. Wheels are out of the mpc 1969 Barracuda kit. Redline tires are from Stevens international. Its kind a gotten beat up a bit over the years and a few items need re-attached like the hood latch tray . I was in process of changing display cases and thought now was a good time to make some repairs, and just decided to snap off a few pictures before it gets put away for another 10 years after repairs are done. This was the 1st of only 2 cars I've done that received magazine coverage at a show.
