Its a light dust coat of TS44 light blue met. Sprayed over the darker blue which I think is Mica Blue The Mica blue was far too dark, But TS44 was too light. The 1 sprayed over top of the other came out darn close to what I wanted , Which is the Dart kits blue stripe, That one is all kit decals

I'm sure they will announce the kit. As soon as I finish mine I just found an old Slixx sheet to get the upper stripes from So I should back on mine here soon

Ps Said AMT kit has the side trim Be real curious how well the 2 kits can be combined to make nice Caliente. On a side note. did the 1/1 car have underhood duct work to make the scoops functional -

I use Loctite Superglue Ive not had good luck with the cheap brands -
Nice, Very well done that captures the look of the actual car I saw this very car back when it was first being built It was a roller with a display only blown 392 hemi in it . That was probably 20 years ago maybe

Ive sold a few ( very few ) over the years but doubt I could claim a profit Ive bought and sold some unbuilt stuff over the years , but 99% of the time it all goes right back in to more kits to build Wash , Rinse , Repeat I do have some old annuals / Drag car kits I plan to sell off. But have serious doubts I'll make a profit on any of them

Options for THIS car. Golden Commandos 1964 Plymouth
gtx6970 replied to gtx6970's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
ps, Ive worked on the back edge a little. And I think its beyond saving and retain the edge mldg thats there BUT after thinking about this a bit , I decided I had nothing to loose , SO . cut the decklid out of a plastic kit body and transfer it to the JF body And sometimes it pays to be frugal ( aka cheap ) As it worked out A LOT better than I expected. When this comes back to the bench I'll finesse the edge / gap a bit. Might even make it an opening trunk ( big step for me) -

Options for THIS car. Golden Commandos 1964 Plymouth
gtx6970 replied to gtx6970's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Both bodies have same exact trim on the back end Just the SMH version is A LOT better. The Flintstone body is very rough cast And I see no way to save it and make it presentable -

I bought both mine new via one if his resellers on ebay ( been a few years ) The SMH car came via Ebay thru Southern Motorsports ebay store last year I think You can tell pretty quick whats its based from and both of yours are Lindberg based ( can tell by the missing tail ligh area It will also have the section of the inner fenders for underhood like a Lindberg body does -
PM me with your desire trade material

I want to build the Golden Commmandos 1964 Plymouth hemi sedan I have 2 resin bodies here, On the left is a Jimmy Flintstone body.' On the right is I think SMH Resin body which is very VERY nice compared to the so so finish of the JF version. Especially on the rear edge of the decklid The JF is based on the modern Lindberg kit. So all kit pieces work perfectly with it, Including a resin single headlight grill I have on hand Where as the SMH body is Johan based and no way to make said grill fit. without grinding and actually spreading the nose of the body slightly. And that direction requires a lot of work to make all the Lindberg pieces fit the body I had started a conversion of my own. Cutting and pasting the sedan roof from a Lindberg Dodge onto a Lindberg Plymouth Hardtop. The Issue is. The Dodge is ever so slightly wider at the hipline than the Plymouth. Thus requiring A LOT of work . Thus felt a resin body was the better option, But apparently not So I guess my question is Does anyone make a resin sedan body, thats nice . That is modern Lindberg / AMT variant based ?
