gtx6970 replied to Matt T.'s topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Exhaust was a SS class rule. Not required on the AFX class cars ,,,also,,,keep in mind the AFX class cars were relegated to match race cars pretty quickly after introduction -

I know for a fact the grills dont interchange, so its not likely the hood will either the Revell grille was a good bit larger than the Johan -

And I dont have an add blocker on either one that Im aware of Im a member on a 1/1 Mopar board and the info links adds there are way, WAY WAY out of control. Especially on my phone -

I usually need something for one or the other Im not a fan of resin per say, so I usually try to find original kit pieces if I can With modelhaus gone, guys like myself have no other choice really I have a few sellers on my favorites page. Vintagemodelparts is NOT one of them. Wouldnt buy from him ever again, i dont care what he has I need . But thats a whole nutter story -

Values for these screw bottom cars?
gtx6970 replied to Scott8950's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The 63 Fords are everywhere . so figure maybe $30 for the hardtop,,,if your lucky less for the vert with the broken windsheid frame the 62 Dodge if it has the uptop ,,,can be a good one mainly for the top. the car by itself is maybe $20-25. the top is worth easily $10-15 by itself edit, corrected comment on years of the Fords -
Values for these screw bottom cars?
gtx6970 replied to Scott8950's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The 68 charger and 65 falcon are probably the best of the bunch. At least based on what i can see. Falcon somewhere in the $60 range Charger can pull $75 range pretty easily. Just as an example. I just bought a 63 Mercury hardtop. Maybe 4 months ago. Never painted $60 delivered . -
New Project – Revell 1969 Camaro Pace Car
gtx6970 replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I know for a fact the 396 was in the 1969 pace cars. Back about 1979 , or maybe early 1980 . there was one parked by an old appt bldg in the small town my parents lived ( Walton Ky ) behind that bldg was this white 1969 camaro conv with this god awful ugly orange interior. And on the front fenders it had 396 badges. Being the gear head that I am ,,,,I just had to pop the hood to ck , . Sure enough it was in there . I treid for months to find out who owned it, finally gave up, the car disappeared sometime a few months later. No idea what happened to it -

Best built-right-from-the-box kits?
gtx6970 replied to Jantrix's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Agreed. 1000% For me....price is irrelevant. As an example....I paid over $100 for a mint in box 1959 Edsel kit. Then built it. Tamiya...makes nothing that interests me. And doubt they ever will. -
What did you see on the road today?
gtx6970 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No pictures ( I was driving) But saw a really nice little 1965 or 66 mustang convertible. Older couple oit for a cruise with the top down. Sounded like a 6 cyl when it went by -

For me personally, I think it has the be the revell Thunderbolt kits. No fuss or drama involved from start to finish. -
FM3 Panther Pink is not a very common color found on ANY B body mopar. extremely rare on a 1970 Coronet. I personally have only seen one or two.

Interesting. I've no idea what that is. The oil pump is mounted below that area. Wonder if it's some kind of adapter
