  1. Well, there are two ways of looking at the build, and I say that because you asked constructive criticism. Looking at the build as model done without compromise with replicating what Ford did in 1940, it is clean, with very nice paint, in a great color, that goes with the car super well. It looks glamorous in it's gleaming metallic blue, and chrome. Super nice white walls, and nicely built engine. Looking at the build as a Ford guy, and imagining it as something built with the objective of replicating a car that would have rolled out of the Ford assembly line, and not only as a model car, I would say the color is incorrect for a Standard Business coupe. Also, the grille and headlight doors should be body color. The weatherstripping on the windshield vent windows, and the backlights needs to be painted to simulate rubber, as it's the case with the bumper bracket grommets on the front and rear of the car. Also, the emblem on the trunk needs detailing, with chrome foil, and some blue paint. The air filter is semi gloss black, and the radiator hoses are missing the FoMoCo decals. The rubber grommet on the fuel filler tube needs painting, the horn was no chrome plated, and the oil filter is on the wrong place on the engine.
  2. When I'm too confident my builds look good, I come to see Steven's work, and have a reality check Even with you showing how you do it, It's still mind blowing!!! If I tried to use a 20 year old spray can, I would probably blow my house up, or it would melt the body.
  3. Awesome work on the '66 Fords. I'm trying to replicate a four door sedan Galaxie. Not good at body work tough...
  4. Removable top is painted Raven Black.
  5. WOW!!!!!! I would like it more if it were factory stock, but the craftsmanship involved in building this car is amazing!!! And the Ford engine is a nice touch.
  6. Some more progress on the Thunderbird. Now that i started detail painting, I was painting the battery, and noticed it's a 6V battery... Figures, I just noticed that now, after the body is painted and detailed. Well, it will be a 6V battery. I won't be sanding the top down to fix that. Thanks AMT. The rest of the detail painting is going ok.
  7. More detail done. Finished with the airbrush on this baby. Now it's just a case of brush painting the details, and foiling. Will make some foil for the body, and also some brushed foil for the dash, to recreate some of the looks of the engine turned inserts.
  8. It looks awesome!!! Also have a soft spot for 1957 Chevrolets.
  9. Thanks for the comments guys!! Did some more (slow) progress on the 'Bird. Painted the interior tub the basic colors. Painted the engine. painted the chassis in Ford primer, starting detail paint soon.
  10. That's what I said. The car is a circa 1925 Moel T, and not a '29. 1929 Fords were Model As.
  11. Thanks guys!! I had one of the AMT kits. Built, and traded long ago. Wish I still had it, but not enough to actually built another.
  12. Thanks!! Yes, I was thinking about a resistor in series with the circuit. All the LEDs are in parallel with each other, what puts 3 Volts on every single one of them (two AAA batteries), and other than a on/off switch between them and the batteries, there is nothing more to it. I said I was thinking, as I found a very compact dimmer, that I plan on testing. Let's see what results I'll get from that.
  13. You're some kind of hero for even touching that body!!
  14. Thanks Dave!! Kind of. I foil the scripts before painting the body. Then I rub the paint off.
  15. Nice cat!! Mine would have knocked everything down before I had the chance of taking a picture.
  16. No problem!! Here in Florianópolis there is only one, and it's small, but in a town called Balneário Camboriú, there is a big one. It's about one hour away tough. Usually I also buy from a hobby shop in São Paulo, called Mais Modelismo. Usually I get 24 hour delivery from them. Take a stroll on their site: https://maismodelismo.com.br/Default.aspx
  17. Drop me a line on Telegram with your address, and I'll send them to you. I did cast some spare hubcaps. Thank you!!
  18. Well, you succeeded on catching the real car looks. Specially nice is the Y under the hood.
  19. Impossible to say you had problems with it.
  20. Indeed!!! Even not being a wire wheel fan, I kept them on my '62 Thunderbird, as those were quite nicely done. Yep, I don't like the wagon wheel and rubber band visual. IMHO, the only aftermarket wheel that exists is the Cragar SS. 15" Cragars with Firestone Wide Ovals look awesome on any car. Had problems with my decals on the Lindberg Crestline Victoria. Looks like Lindberg decals don't age well. Thanks!!!
  21. Yep. Painted the parts in one afternoon, put it together in another. It's a very simple kit, almost a snap. LOL!!! This kit is very simple. It comes with pre colored parts trees, so, in theory it can be built with no paint. I just gave the parts a coat of the basic colors, and the most time consuming stuff was painting the white and black details in the tan deck pieces. Black on the hull is bare plastic, the red on the hull is also bare plastic. If one is not painting anything, it can be built in a hour or two.
  22. Thanks guys!! The lighting comes with the kit. The Leds are quite strong in my opinion, if I were to build another I would paint the inside of the ship flat black to minimize light bleeding trough. This is the box:
  23. This was supposed to be a quick easy build, painting nothing. Ended painting almost all parts, and spent two days on it.
  24. Entrambi sembrano grandi. Belo lavoro!!
