I'm terrible at painting wood. There are several complicated techniques to do so, and I never could get something acceptable. So I decided to cheat, and paint it the easy way. Just painted the dash and door tops with Testors enamel tan, close to the tone I wanted the final product and let dry. Then I added one drop of dark tan acrylic to 15 drops of Testors acrylic clear. The wood effect just resulted of using a somewhat hard brush to apply the dark tan diluted in clear to the parts. It took about 5 minutes to do.

Well, that is Ford for a convertible with a back seat in 1946/1948. It's how the car was refereed to on brochures. What would actually be a Club Coupe, Ford called Sedan Coupe. The Revell Police Coupe kit, is not just a coupe, it's a Sedan Coupe according to FoMoCo. So is the old IMC kit.

Very cool way to show your appreciation for Harry. He had this model posted here in the forum ages ago. If I remember it right he glued the door shut. It's a nice car, and a very nice build. That's for sure, even tough Harry hated it when we call our models "builds". Good old Harry.

I like this a LOT. Happen to be a huge Maverick fan myself. Have the same promo, but it's not as nice as the one you started with. The car for sure has that "could have being done by Ford" vibe to it.

Really nicely done, and there is nothing wrong with going simple. A simple build, wheel done, and as clean as this one, is way better than building a model full of added detail and aftermarket stuff to take attention off of the basic modeling practices that were ignored, like sanding mold lines, filling seams between parts, fixing sink marks and leaving sand marks to show trough the paint, just to name a few I've seen on many superdetailed builds. Thumbs UP!!

Ok gentlemen. Some updates. I did the foiling on the emblems that will be under white paint soon. Today, we look at rods built in the '80's and '90's and think they look dated and odd. Factory stock never looks dated or odd. It's timeless good taste.

Started building this one about a month ago. Did the basic body prep, and had to put it aside due to work issues. What I had done was basically to fix the sink marks, a little flash, sand the mold lines, and also some corrections on the inscribed detail (or lack of). 1956 Ford Firlane Victoria WIP by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr The trunk shut line was way too shallow, so I deepened it almost all the way trough. Right now i'm masking the body to receive the Colonial White. After painted, will let it dry for at least a week, as it's cold now, and white enamel takes forever to dry fully. Can't risk messing up the white while masking for the red, specially in the door jamb area.

Starting to think BMF compeny is going to get me killed for that. On the car, I would go with the stock hubcaps and wide whites, specially with so close to factory colors, but that's me.

Had seen her on facebook already, but now, with bigger pictures, WOW!!! Not only greatly built, but the color is perfect.

That's true!! But, today I'm very happy I disliked Photobucket from the start. Don't have to learn the tricks of a new site. What Photobucket did was so stupid I started looking for news on the site being bought by a competing one. If I had thousands of pictures there, I would be really pissed, would NOT pay a cent, and just leave the site. By not giving any notice, thproved they wanted to get people "with their pants down" and force the most people they could to pay. Call me overkill, but I have pictures uploaded to Ipernity, Flickr, and Fotki. Just in case.

Have a Fotki account. Had the paid account, but when Flickr got the 1TB (one Terabite) free space, I started using it mostly. Also sharing the pictures is super easy, and less complicated than Fotki, and Ipernity, for example.

I never understood why people here dislike using Flickr. I have a free account there, have ad block (so I see no ads that a free account would show) and I have more than 11.000 pictures uploaded there. Not even close to the limit for a free account, and the pictures all show fine here and in all other forums.

I have being using Flickr since 2010, and never had an issue. And all my pictures there are not even close to the 1 TB of free space.
