This one started as 1:43 scale diecast replica released by Salvat. I turned it into a replica of my 1:1 '98 chevy. It only took an afternoon Took her all apart, painted the interior (it was black) painted the chassis, eliminated a non stock running board (step?) and made some custom decals to replicate my S-10's special series decals. It helped a lot she was already the right color. Just had to polish out a few little flaws. I'm planning to modify the wheels to match mine, but still thinking on how to do it. 1998 S10 Champ 98 by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1998 S10 Champ 98 by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1998 S10 Champ 98 by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1998 S10 Champ 98 by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1998 S10 Champ 98 by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr The 1:1 Chevrolet S-10 Champ 98 by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr Chevrolet S-10 Champ 98 by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr

It looks cool, for sure.

The Renault Dauphine was made here in Brasil during quite a while by Willys under Renault licence. They were rebadged as Renault Gordini after the first series proved to be fragile when compared to the VW Bug. The water cooled Renault rear engine was prone to everheating, warping the head, and mixing oil and coolant. The car got a bad fame, but I always thought it was more Willys's fault, for not adapting the car to the tropical climate, than the car itself. The model looks great, specially when one knows what you started with. It would had looked great with the moon roof on the unpainted body!! People here doesn't hop up them with motorcycle engines, but with Ford Corcel engines. Withe the Aerostable rear suspension is kind of suicidal, but it ought to be fun!!

It for sure looks great. -
Found a online ad for a Union kit, 1948 Ford Convertible. Pictures are bad, and the guy has no clue about Ford Cars. It's a cheap, and the kit is sealed. I'm thinking about scoring it. Question is: Are the parts for the '46 model year included in the kit as they were on the Testors kit? On the box it says yes, but I would like to confirm with someone that has the thing. Thanks in advance folks!!

Looking great!!

It looks great for sure. Such a beautiful car and model. The austerity of a police car was captured very nicely. The hood emblem is upside down, but that is an easy fix. It's great to see those kits starting to show built.

Black is thew color isn't it? When I built this kit I painted it Chevy engine red. And I replaced the kit engine by a Ford 312. Yours looks great. Loved how you got rid of all that louvers on the hood.

Another Ebay Comedy

I built my first model when I was 7. AMT 1957 Ford Fairlane molded in blue. I had just got my very first three kits for christmas. My mother knew I had being looking for model car kits for a long time and those were a no go at places where one could find a kit. Only airplanes appeared popular here. My uncle had a few kits built, but he had bought them years before in Rio de Janeiro. At the time, we lived in a small beach town called Balneário Camboriú. So, one of the times my mother went to a bigger town, she got all three car kits she found. A Monogram 1956 Bel Air, a Testors 1948 Ford and my favorite, the AMT '57 Ford. When I got the '57 Ford kit on hand it was like having a gold bar, so happy I was. I asked my uncle who knew English, to circle on the instructions all the parts to build the car factory stock. That was the only way I would admit to build a kit. He did it for me. I only had a few paint bottles I got with the kits. Silver, white and black. Left the body in bare plastic, painted the trim silver (did a mess), used the white to paint seat inserts, and the black to paint the underside. Still have pictures of that car. Wish I still had the model. Maybe someday I find it. Have high hopes it's still inside one of the boxes of "old stuff" at my cousin's. -
1957 Ford Del Rio Ranch Wagon - mild custom
Lovefordgalaxie replied to YBlock292's topic in Model Cars
I like the Custom Tudor on the last picture. She looks stock. -
Don't need to be sorry, it's your car, and it looks great. I was referring to the fact the engine is not Ford. A '57 312 would be cool instead of a Chebby.

It was all well until I saw the "engine".

1.1 cars that got away

The car I miss the most, and dream about every night is a 1990 VAZ - 2104 Lada Laika SW bought new by my father. Loved it so much, he let me have her a year latter. Sold when the importer stopped activities and parts get as expensive as gold. When a rock hit the right headlight and cracked the glass, and I took a year to find another, I decided to sell. Worse thing I ever did. It was before the internet made parts available from the entire world. Also had a '73 VW bug and a Mercedes E-420 1986, but those I was happy to sell. Both were always with a issue or another. Miss a little bit a Chevrolet Veraneio 1973, also in the family since new. Sold in 2005. Also missed: 1991 Chevrolet Kadett SL/E 1.8 litre, 1995 Chevrolet Astra GLS 2.0 litre. -

Pretty car, and very organized job. On the chrome lettering, I always foil them after the primer. This way, you won't have primer sandwiched between the foil and the paint, and showing on the edges. I also cut the foil letter by letter, so There is no chance of the extra foil to show under the paint. That is a problem particularly when using Tamiya paints as they are very thin and all imperfections will show trough.
-
Very nice, you managed to make the car to look good.
-
Very nicely done!! I would had painted it a green just a tad darker, and kept the white walls, but that's me.
-
Thanks!! I sure do love the Fords

My take on Revell's '48 Ford Custom

Thanks gentlemen!!! -
I like the color. I'm not sure about a set of Cragars on a '37 car, but taste is subjective. Love Cragars on a 60's car. That color will look amazing on a Cobra, yes it will.
