Example of Maverick on races. The Maverick was a Divisão 1 racer, and most ran on Class C. The competitors were the Chevrolet Opala, and Dodge Charger. On this race, the Maverick dominated, as always. Look at the results, highlighted in yellow. Maverick on Races by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr Maverick on Races by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr

That problem seems to be related to Windows. On my HP laptop I have windows 10, and sometimes I can't even access the site, not to mention having to log on every time. On my desktop, that is 5 years old, and runs Windows 7, I have no issues at all.

rattle can dilema
Lovefordgalaxie replied to Lizard Racing's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No special prep at all. Tamiya is specially formulated for plastic. Just mist the first coat, and go ahead from that. Like Tamiya shows all rugosity below it, if you prime, the paint will show every single orange peel of the primer coat, specially at hard to sand places. Without primer, it's smooth land all the way. -
The car on the video is still a import Maverick, with skinny tires and front drum brakes. Emerson was the guy that helped Ford to tune the Maverick for the GT version, that had a completely different spring/shock combo, and had a improved front suspension geometry. The final car also was equipped with F-70X14 Firestone Wide Ovals, and was about two and a half inches lower. The final product, the Maverick GT with the standard 302 V8 was a better handling machine than it's competitors, and out handled the '73 Mustang (year of launch here) at Interlagos. The Maverick GT is a sports car, some sort of a legend here, and a good original one goes for about 160 000 Reais these adays (about 50K Dollars). The Maverick dominated the Stock car category in racing, winning it all from about 1973 to 1975, when the gas crisis made the category go the way of Dinosaurs.... The Maverick GT is a dream car of mine. Would own one over any other sports car, including the Mustang (never looked so good as the Maverick) Here is a all original GT: 1974 Ford Maverick GT 302 V8 by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1974 Ford Maverick GT 302 V8 by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1974 Ford Maverick GT 302 V8 by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1974 Ford Maverick GT 302 V8 by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1974 Ford Maverick GT 302 V8 by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr The Maverick V8 on duty: Racing!! by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr

rattle can dilema

Tamiya usually are 100ml. A lot less than a "regular" can of general purpose paint you get at auto paint stores, supermarkets, etc. Those usually have 350ml. -
rattle can dilema
Lovefordgalaxie replied to Lizard Racing's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I use Tamiya on rattle can always that the color is close or matches a stock color I want. For example, this '40 Ford was painted with Tamiya Maroon straight from the can. Three cans were used, and I used no primer on the plastic. 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery Deluxe by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery Deluxe by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr This Buick was also painted with Tamiya rattle can. On this car I used two and a half cans. 1962 Buick Electra 225 by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr By other hand, this Ford was airbrushed with automotive synthetic enamel: 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr To be honest, I always make sure I get at least three cans of the desired color before even starting the build. For me, rattle cans are way more practical, simple and trouble free, as I don't have to get automotive paint out of my airbrush. The finish is the same. -
Not beating I'm afraid.

The overall look is good. The side trim makes the doors impossible to open, tough.
-
Thanks guys!!! Also, thank God nobody tried to translate the small text on the rear window decal Saw it on a Maverick, and just adapted it to fit the '57.

Loved the color, and the chrome wheels, that are the best from AMT. Using foil, would greatly improve this car.
-
Other than the non Ford engine and the chop top, I like it, and the color is great.
-
Oh yeah. That's a mean Impala. A really great thing to see one that is not a stinking lowrider.
-
It looks very nice. Loved the color.
-
Thanks guys!! The caps on the front wheels are just the brake drums hubs going trough the wheel. On the back, the hole on the center of the wheel, only shows the axle plate that has the prisoners for the wheels nuts.

This is a revamp of a old build I was never really happy about. Built this Ford with a really old kit that had being started when I got it. It had no stock wheels, so I had Cragar SS mags on her. The wheels make me go with a basic hot rod theme, so I added two four barrels to the 312, lowered the front, and added traction bars to the rear. Paint was and still is Tamiya TS-12 orange, from the can, with automotive two part clear over it. Also added the kit's flame decals to the sides. Recently I started "fixing" the bumpers of my built '57 Fords, to eliminate the seam on the chrome, following a tip by our favorite Harry. While doing so, I decided what I was not really happy about the car were the wheels, that were too much non Ford to my taste. So, I got some wheels from a Ford kit, and made resin copies of them. The tires are rubber (flexible resin) that I also cast myself. With the "new old" wheel and tire combo, finally I was very happy about this one, even tough it was a fast build, done in less than a week, and with not much detail. Shelby GT 350 Single Turbo Intercooler
Lovefordgalaxie replied to da Speedinger's topic in Model Cars
The Mustang looks very nice. I think you should give rattle cans a try, if you are not into airbrushing. A well done can job can be very good looking, and your models would have a outstanding finish, as your detail and overall building skill is great. Think about it. The worse it can happen is you not liking it and going back to brush painting. -
That one looks ready for a stock restoration, and to be like she rolled out of the factory back in '32.
-
WOW!!! Brush painted??? It's better than my airbrush jobs.

I won't say it isn't White Lightning, as I never saw it before, but it looks like the very same gray color as the plastic on a AMT '66 Galaxie I'm working right now.
