  1. After the Chevelle is done, what's the chance of a 1977 Cutlass 442?
  2. NASCAR guys, i'm wondering about a nascar model kit anomally. MPC did the Lennie Pond PEPSI Chevelle Laguna S3. It was one of the last, if not THE last kit in thier 1970's nascar series. Here's the question. Why does the kit have #39 on the decals when all the reference pictures I can find of the car have #54? Furthermore, the PEPSI lettering in the kit is in PEPSI blue, while the car itself had white lettering? Was this a licensing issue?
  3. Well, i've found a rubber duck hood ornament on ebay. I didn't care for the price but I snagged it anyway because the alternative was over $200 for a Rubber Duck complete kit. When it arrives, i'll start my triple threat build in the workbench section. Thanks again to all who responded. If anyone has more info on the interiors of these cars please let me know here.
  4. OH! as it turns out it was a guy in the nieghborhood that I save cans for.
  5. Batch two- I'll stop here until we get some of this figured.
  6. Some are obvious, others not so much. This is just the first of many!
  7. Thanks for those Shane. I'm going to try and put the extra lights in the grille if I can get it sanded open. Correct or not, I won't put a chevy engine in a MOPAR. Sorry Chevy guys.
  8. I couldn't be lucky enough to get the two legged variety. It's a big box and there's alot, and I mean ALOT of parts in here. Tires, bumpers, grilles, hoods you name it it's here. I'll try to take pictures of bunches and number them so we can get some ID going. Thanks all.
  9. I went out to my favorite automotive store for some paint. I get home and there's a big garbage bag on my porch. Inside are dozens of old, really old model kits and parts! NOT A CLUE WHERE THEY CAME FROM! Whats more, I don't even recognise most of them! They're all from the fifties and sixties. What I want to know is, where can I post them here on the forum? I know there's a buncha guys out there with old kits in thier collection that have missing parts so i'd like to post some pictures and maybe make some trades. Is the "swap/trade/free" section the appropriate place?
  10. Okay, spoke too soon! That'll teach me to let the whole page load!
  11. Hey, put it wherever you want big guy, just stop pointin that thing at me! lol
  12. I would love one of these Chevelles. I have a 1977 Monte Carlo interior if you guys need it for this project. Actually the whole kit minus the body parts.
  13. Hey, i'm new here to all this stuff. I only meant that his explanation of what happened made sense.
  14. Wowzers! Other than the links martinfan provided, there's very little about any of these cars. Instead of going with what they actually had under the hood i'm going to build them with what they supposedly had. Death Proof and Blade cars will have 440's and the FAST 5 car will be HEMI powered. I'm finding mixed results on the DP car. Did it have the skull and bones on the hood or not? I did find the rubber duck hood ornament on ebay but the guy wants $16 bucks for a buy-it-now. Seems a little pricey to me. Does anyone have pictures of the Death Proof roll cage they could post?
  15. Well, there is one part i'll most likely need in resin. Does anyone know where I can get the rubber duck hood ornament for the Death Proof car? By the way, i've been looking at info over on the IMCDB pages. Alot of what they have is just guesswork. One guy is even adamant that the DP car is a 1971 R/T!
  16. Thanks. That makes sense.
  17. I don't need any resin parts at all. I have an original 1970 MPC front bumper which fits the Revell kits nicely. I'll only need to modify the front fenders and splash panel a bit. I never said the Fast Five Charger was in gloss black. It was in flat paint for the whole of the movie. It was gloss with a blower in the first movie The Fast and the Furious.
  18. I really can't afford the resin kits, that's why i'm going with the Revell's. They are pretty easy to snag cheap. Thanks though.
  19. Right. It kinda threw me off when I started watching Fast 5 because I kept thinking, didn't the Charger have a blower? Not sure what the backstory is because i've only watched the first one and the latest. I had no interest in Tokyo drift.
  20. Waaaayyy back in the day, I tried it on some models that I wanted a shiny neon on. It doesn't conform to compound curves well and bubbles/wrinkles are the norm. It's useable on a flat, straight surface though.

Now i've looked closer I see it's the old MPC 1/25th kit. Mr. Harry P, maybe he's just not a good photographer. Give a guy a break.
  22. Thanks Johnny. No need for exclamation points. As I said, I was looking under nascar and that's the one that dissapeared. Probably the same car just a different thread.
  23. Thanks Corey. I see the spoiler mounts on the deck now. Didn't notice those at first.
