  1. Can't go wrong with an Elky! I agree, you nailed it.
  2. Figures your mind would go that direction! Dave- Do you mean Sizzler as in gas pump shaped charger, wide plastic track, runs just long enough to get bored with Sizzler's?
  3. You're welcome. I love ingenuity like this. Closest I ever came to using watch parts on a model, was using watch band pins for shock absorbers. That counts right?
  4. Until you walk away from the bench to cut something elsewhere! Then it's a bloodbath all over again!
  5. Lost your mind!? I would say you're in a great frame of mind! That's quite ingenious and I am now wishing I had a box of watch parts!
  6. Then I would call it the Cruzerino! Okay...maybe not.
  7. I just recently had a trade of sorts go sideways a little. A gentleman in Canada no less, (I won't say who unless he wants to chime in here) wanted some decals I was giving away for free. Since they required a larger than usual envelope all I asked was that whoever wanted said decals cover the postage. This person sent me a $5 canadian bill to cover what amounted to $1.76 american to send. The catch was, the bank wanted ten bucks, to exchange a five dollar bill. Seriously! I sent the decals out, and sent the fiver back with them. I told this person not to worry about it at all. He contacted me back and offered to send me five dollars american. I again told him not to worry about it. He made an honest attempt AND an honest try to rectify it. I appreciated that. It's all about honesty and courtesy. I tend to help those who don't expect it as if it's owed to them. I joined this board because of Jacen. In the couple of months i've been here i've completed several trades. Some for thing others needed or wanted, and some for my own needs. All of them were carried out with dignity and respect to the other party. If a deal couldn't be agreed upon we parted, still friends. Not once, did I expect anything, without offering something. If you are good friends with someone on the board you can most likely send them a part or even a whole kit, no questions asked. You know it's good. Sure you can get a real good feeling sending someone a freebie. I've given cases, litterally cases of hot wheels to toys-for-tots. I've donated kits as door prizes for charity events, and I don't lament one of them. I just refuse to give stuff away to someone i've never seen before who shows up with a christmas list. There's nothing wrong with giving. There's nothing wrong with being a nice guy and treating others the way you expect to be treated. It's the way this particular scenario started out that galled Jacen and quite frankly myself. I will apologise for my part in the chiding that followed that the mods had to delete. I don't usually join in that kind of thing but I did and it was wrong.
  8. I'm kind of the same. I mean I don't look down on things I used to be into, but my tastes have changed over the years where some subjects are concerned, like salt flats cars and open wheel, while remaining constant where mopars and nascars are concerned.
  9. It's my understanding that most kit companies, due to licensing and such, are working with the automotive companies well in advance of the auto's release to the public. In other words, just because a new model 1:1 car comes out in the fall, doesn't mean Tamiya wasn't designing the kit in the spring when the manufacturer started running them down the assembly line.
  10. Nice build. Superb weathering.
  11. George, it's my fault entirely! I don't know WHAT I was reading but I read you completely wrong. Please accept my apologies. Someone is sending me a slimer, and i've never done a whole lot of scratchbuilding so I was hoping someone had some resin cast packs. Looking for the easy way!
  12. That's just...Eeeewwww! Why would you do that to a Beemer?!?
  13. One shot?? Now that made me chuckle! Paint, any paint, has a tough time sticking to chrome plating. Take some standard gloss black testors in a bottle. Dip your paintbrush in it, then in your thinner and brush it onto the grille. After it's dried, wipe over it with a soft cloth like an old t-shirt. It's as simple as that. I'm sure there are some other methods that are just as good, as well as some other guys here that will frak out over this technique, but I assure you, this has always worked for me and it will work for you too. Edit: I say to use gloss black because it will show up darker in the recesses and give more depth than flat black. Try it on a scrap piece if you have doubts.
  14. Extreme clean! For a resin cast in that scale. I guess I havta get a hold of RMM!
  15. God bless the fifties! Based on your Vicky build, i'm DEFINITELY watching this one!
  16. I'll be watching it. I mean I love sheriff Taylor and he is most certainly a beloved character for all time, but rarely do we get to see the range he truly had as an actor. Andy Griffith was truly one of a kind!
  17. Thanks for the info Mike, and for displaying your model.
  18. Nice build. I love bugs, can you tell me who the maker is and if it's readily available? (Love Bugs...pun unintentional!)
  19. I can't tell if you're making fun of me or not? Either way, I did find this: http://www.starshipmodeler.com/rv/kr_pax.htm As for Slimer, i'm no sculptor so I won't be attempting that.
  20. I want to start by saying I really don't know if this is in the right forum. Does anyone make a resin 1/25th scale Slimer or proton pack for the Ghostbuster's Caddy?
  21. I think I went to school with that guy.
  22. Wow! Wrong forum guy. Plus as I understand it there's no selling here.
  23. You're quite welcome. Can't wait to see this project finished.
