  1. I do buy them myself. If it's a kit I can acquire by no other means. I know a friend of mine has the old stigma of "anything you can do I can do better" and that's why he buys them.
  2. Me too! I was like "What the whaaaa...?"
  3. Richard Petty 1973 Dodge Charger in 1/16th?
  4. I just picked one up from a friend across the country and it's mint in the original pack. My question is two-fold. First- was there not a post recently about a resin version? And B- Can anyone tell me the approximate value? I haven't been able to find it on eBay but i'm wondering what you guys have seen it go for. For those of you who don't believe in "collectable value" and so forth, please keep any responses calm cool and well...collected. I understand many of you firmly believe a model unbuilt is a useless model and whatnot, and that's fine. I am however not looking for people to tell me to build it, I am trying to find a rough estimate value for a reason. Thank you.
  5. Thought I should expand a bit for those who don't know. At the 1970 Rebel 400 at Darlington, Richard Petty (during practice) rolled his Superbird down the frontstretch. Barrell rolling going into and end over end, Richards car rolled over seventeen times and all but demolished the concrete barrier between the track and pit road. In all this, the only injury Richard sustained was a dislocated shoulder from his left arm flopping out of the window although he was nearly thrown from the car. Richard and his wife Linda together, invented the window net almost emmediately. (most of the credit goes to Linda! ) The following year all side window glass was outlawed and the window net was required safety equipment.
  6. Well done! Obviously a bird from the latter half of the season judging by the window net.
  7. I like it. I would most likely build a model of it were one available. Nice find.
  8. I sure wish I was 16 again! I would gladly trade your problems for mine!
  9. Well, Futurabat (Jacen) and I have both dealt with him for years and have never had a problem. I'm sure if there is something negative you experienced it could be explained. We have discussed it and decided niether one of us will hold it against you. PM if you want to, you have our curiosity up.
  10. I use fun-tak the same way, found at most dollar stores or Spencer gifts. Primarily for hanging posters, it's alot easier to work with in small amounts than masking tape.
  11. Don't believe that for one moment. I have two words for you- REVERSE ENGINEERING.
  12. How do you cook roadkill? You don't...it's already been grilled!
  13. Fred, just to help out- there never was a 1971 STP Charger. STP's sponsorship of Richard Petty began in 1972. During that time the Petty team ran three cars. The STP Plymouth Roadrunner #43, The 1972 STP Charger #43, and the all STP red #11 Charger driven by teammate Buddy Baker. Grant you the 1971 and 1972 Chargers were the same body style.
  14. No worries and not taken as sarcastic at all Ray. While i'm at it, I may as well let you know they are pretty tight about swearing here as well. Even to the point of not allowing vieled swears by use of the symbol keys. It is all in the rules. I only wish I could help you with your Camaro issues. As always I post this at great risk of edit, moving or deletion.
  15. Since the other list seems to have been kinda lost...I would like to start a new one. And I want to start it with Bart Deathrage (Bartster) and Randy Layman (rel14) as being two of the greatest guys and straight up honest traders I have ever run into! Kudo's, and a golf clap to these two guys... Next up is Bob Frias, with whom I traded some older SAE's for a 1/16th General Lee. Kudo's and a golf clap to you to sir! As well as Cooltoys1 for a recently completed trade. Add RT6PK to the list. Great guy to deal with. Adding Benjamin Bow to the list. Quick, smooth trader. I won't hesitate to trade with him again. So add YOUR great trade deal here...and when this one gets buried in time...heck, we'll just start another one!
  16. Raymond, you really need to add your last name. The rules here do say FULL name. I post this at the risk of it being edited, moved or deleted.
  17. I would love to respond to this but it's been my recent experience that it will just get moved, edited or deleted.
  18. DUDE! Your car esploded man! All I can say is "Mongo like Kandy!" Gimmie more!
  19. I like this! Could I trouble you to post a shot or two of the 1:1?
  20. My personal preference would have been a different color, but what a sweet, clean rebuild. well done sir! I also like the chosen wheels.
  21. I love it! THAT is a too cool tip! Thanks for that one Joker. B)
  22. Now on THAT note we totally agree!
  23. For really light scratches and dulling I wash with dishwashing detergent and polish with Novus plastic polish after a 3000 grit sanding. For slightly deeper scratches I dip in Future.
  24. Ah yes...but that's YOU. (and please don't get me wrong here, no disrespect intended) This thread isn't about you is it? It's the OP and his personal preference. So my preference (which is honestly more along the same lines as you) or your preference doesn't really enter into it. That's why I basically say to the OP, build it however you enjoy it. I'm right there with you Drew on the acuracy thing and honestly, I'm good friends with Futurabat (the guy is marrying my sister ) and when it come to accuracy of one of his NASCAR kits he is the most anal, annoying, gotta have it 100% accurate sonuvagun you ever met to the point of driving myself and my sister round the bend! But we have to remember this thread isn't about you or I.
