  1. Absolutely! Those little clear diodes make awesome fuel filters!
  2. Jacen and myself both buy ours at the craft store. A 2 foot by 3 foot sheet is under five bucks, comes in several thicknesses and colors and is perfectly clear. The bulk of bottles and other packaging is not. That one 2x3 sheet does dozens of cars.
  3. I want to...but what's holding me back is if I screw it up, odds are i'll never get another one at that price, so if I do it i'm going to leave the roof height alone. I just can't see how I can re-align the a pillars after the chop. Eric- I'm not sure what you're trying to convey. That's a nice resin kit but as with the above green car it's not the right one.
  4. That's the way to go. It has other uses too like guage faces.
  5. Yes, you can use Future. I've used it over dry transfer, wetslide, and almost every kind of paint there is. It's never let me down...yet.
  6. I love these! I will definitely be grabbing up a couple sets. Another way to make the tread surface look used could be to paint them thick, then lightly scuff with 3000 grit. The heavy paint would fill the gaps lightly and give the impression of a heavily used tire.
  7. Now you got it!
  8. Nice. Loving the red/white combo and the killer bed planks.
  9. Okay. Sorry for the confusion, but yes, the car Petty ran was a 1977.
  10. How does that even happen???
  11. I want to do the Petty car. Isn't this one much closer?
  12. But where's the bubble rear window and sloping opera windows?
  13. Hah! At first glance I thought it was Fred Sanford's truck! I'll let Doc and the weathered experts take a crack at this one, but i'm going to watch. I've got a Beverly Hillbillies truck that could use some work.
  14. Crum! I see what you mean now about the roof and slopes. That's just way too much work. When I first got it I thought naybe the roof was too high, and I could probably live with the front and rear, but having never worked metal before I don't think I want to chop the roof. Bummer.
  15. No offense taken. Now that you explained it i'm a little amused at myself. I just called it that because it seemed obvious. My last booth (getting ready to build a new one) drafted straight out the back. I think a cross draft would be better for me as I paint on a lazy suzan and a bottom draft would have too much blockage.
  16. I've seen it around but never used it. It's like an epoxy no? Two part deal?
  17. First off, thanks Jacen for the title! I won this Petty Caprice by ERTL on eVilbay for .99cents. I am good with plastic but i've never messed with altering a diecast. This kit has given me a reason to try. How do I change this... To this? My first thought is bondo to fix the opera windows and a Monogram aeroback window for the rear. I'm just not sure how to go about the mods for the deck lid.
  18. I've always preferred a backdraft booth, but i'm kinda liking the idea of a removable pegboard wall. Is there a real advantage to downdraft vs. backdraft?
  19. No sweat James, It was a poor attempt at humor on my part. As Chief Lodgeskins says "Sometimes the magic works...sometimes it doesn't"
  20. Very wise of you Deron, good going. Any experienced parent knows the more you show you want them to do something the more they'll pull back from it. Let them come to it on thier own and they'll suprise you every time.
  21. Wow! You really just can't help yourself can you Pat? Know what buddy? You just go right on with your bad self. I've wasted enough build time on you. Congratulations on making my ignore list. You are the weakest link...goodbye!
  22. Doesn't matter. Niether needs to be heat set on a model. You are so determined to be right that you just have to nitpick every little misspeak. Get over yourself! THANK YOU!
  23. I didn't think that was pertinent since noone will be drinking from a model or repeatedly washing them.
  24. You made a mistake when you spelled "maistakes".
