    It's almost Indy time and I thought I'd try to build these kits. It includes the 1963 Parnelli Jones Watson Roadster, the 1963 Jim CLark Lotus 27 and the 1973 Johnny Rutherford McLaren M16C. What are your opinions on the set? Any helpful experience, build tips, dos and don'ts, etc. would be appreciated.

    I looked for it this morning at the local Michaels. Their computer listed it as discontinued. I guess I'll try the stuff at HL. Too bad it's $5.99 vs. $3.99 at Michaels.

    OK guys, our OP here is from Brazil. I've searched Michaels and Hobby Lobby on line using gold leaf bond and verniz mordente and got nothing. Anyone have an idea what we can substitute for it?

    Beautiful! I built a Factory Five about 12 years ago. Not as accurate but a lot cheaper to build. The car has won Best of Show at the Chattanooga World of Wheels for the past 2 years.

    I'm completely sold on using 91% isopropyl alcohol to strip lacquers. I spray Tamiya TS lacquers and it will remove it. Might take a little scrubbing but it will remove it.

    Looks like he had a great time. I love VIR, my favorite track. I raced there in 2002 and 2003. My profile pic was taken there.

    ......be sure to check it as soon as it arrives to ensure that all the parts are there. I opened a Fujimi Ferrari 330 P4 I'd had for a while and there was a missing part (front bottom portion of body). Looks like it'll be almost impossible with my skills to improvise a solution.

    I use the Insta-Set also. I also recommend the BSI glues. They don't fog clear plastic.

    I bought a 100 pack of bamboo skewers and use double sided tape to stick the parts to them.

    Actually, it is called Evolution Orange. That's the first time I've ever seen it called Gold.

    The color you've chosen is very close to the Evolution Gold color they used on the 2000 Miata. Only 646 were built.
