mustang1989 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Man I really like the outcome of the distributors Pat!! I've been looking back a page or so here and am just awed by the level of detail you're throwing at this puppy. Great work so far bud!!!!!!!!!

landman Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 Received another photo from a former work colleague who also found it in his dad's albums. Still in the pre-1969 livery but in color.

truckabilly Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Very nice work on the engine. There is a true model building going on there. My hat off to you and your skills.
Motor maker Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 On vacation and utilizing my down time to work on this again. Â The valve covers didn't make it into my travel box.
gatorincebu Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015        Scratching chin while perusing the photos," Veddy veddy interesting!"  Good looking work going on here.       Be Well      Gator
landman Posted October 25, 2015 Author Posted October 25, 2015 I thought I'd have a crack at making some proper valve covers. I took an approach similar to Donovan's, which was to use a reduced image of a valve cover gasket as a guide, but instead of layering thin pieces I glued the image to rectangular stock and filed and sanded and filed and sanded around it until I obtained the shape. Then I glued them to slightly larger thin stock to make the flange. The GMC won't be embossed obviously but a decal.
landman Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 And here it is sporting its new more accurate valve covers.
Superpeterbilt Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 It looks great Pat. I cant wait to see it in the GMC.
