Sixties Sam Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Sweet build! I love the Jag roadsters. Detail work is excellent! Sam

58 Impala Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 I'm currently working on the same kit, yours makes me think about putting mine back in the box, Very nice job.
GeeBee Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Absolutely stunning work, that colour of the paint, and the detail makes this one superb build ...
sjordan2 Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Truly outstanding. I'm bumping this up because the On the Workbench thread has recently been revived.
jaymcminn Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Beautiful job on this build, Jim. Fantastic detail work. Thanks for reviving this thread, Skip...I saw the WIP thread but never did find the under glass pics.
Cpt Tuttle Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Great!Along with the gullwing 300SL, this is my dream car!
Al Hoffman Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Outstanding build Jim. Really admire your attention to details. I'll ask the same question as above: what paints were used? Can't see the seats real well but it looks like you have captured the "leather look" in there. What did you use to do that?
sjordan2 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I recently got a very old plastic toy of the XK120 roadster, which is about 1/15-1/16 scale. While it's truly a toy with metal axles, a thing that passes for an engine block, hollow 1-sided tires/wheels, and is missing the dashboard, the body is amazingly accurate. It won't take much to turn it into a very nice curbside club racer like the one in this thread, using a few parts from the 1/16 Jaguar SS100, and the hand-lace wire wheels from the 1/16 Mercedes SS Sonder Kabriolet make it look awesome.
