smellyfatdude Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 This is build #4 of this year for me, and it's nice to have another one done. It's not perfect, but I'm pleased how it turned out. I'm not sure what I'll work on next, but it's unlikely I'll run out of kits, anytime soon.
smellyfatdude Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 And a couple of the finished interior. The dash decals are from the Lindberg ' 64 Dodge kit.
geetee66 Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Beautiful job! I've never seen one of these before... In any scale! That interior looks very neat and tidy. Well executed, all round.
superbike-shaun Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Smelly, what about a forum poll? Hitchens build on this Polara! Superbike-shaun.
StevenGuthmiller Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Very nice! I can't say I'm crazy about the wheels, but it looks like a very nice build. Steve
peekay Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Looks great! I have the kit and plan something similar - hope it turns out this nice.
Harry P. Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Spectacular! And I really like the interior colors. Nicely done...
restoman Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Looks great! I'm a big fan of the mid sixties Mopar Bs.
Sixties Sam Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Looks great! I'm a big fan of the mid sixties Mopar Bs. Ditto what he said! Love the old Mopars! Sam
fseva Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Ditto to all the previous positivers! Smelly, is this really a Johan kit?
charlie8575 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Nice job on that. I like the color, too. Several inquiring minds want to know... Charlie Larkin
smellyfatdude Posted May 11, 2015 Author Posted May 11, 2015 (edited) Thanks for the kind words! For those asking, the color is Duplicolor Medium Maui Blue. I used it for the interior as well, along with two water based acrylics. Smelly, is this really a Johan kit? Lol, there's one out of left field. Yes, it is and I absolutely love building them! Typically the bodies are extremely well engraved, and accurate. Then when you flip it over, well the chassis on most of them is somewhat disappointing. I originally bought this one with the intention of replicating the car our next door neighbors had, when I was a child. It sorta turned out the same, as far as the color goes, though I'm pretty sure their car was not a hemi. Still, it was a fun project. Edited May 11, 2015 by smellyfatdude
