Hugh Tucker's 1928 Chevy AA/SR phantom completed 5/26/2015

Recommended Posts

Here's one I've been wanting to build for many years. It's a phantom take of Hugh Tucker's winningest AA/SR from 1965. I could not find a model of a 1928 Chevy roadster so I went with a 1929 Ford roadster body, interior and hood. Did find a '34 Ford frame and '32 Ford grill / shell as he used on the real car. Went with the blown Olds engine as he used in '65. Rear push bar, roll bar, headers and straight front axle are scratch built. All other parts are from the spare parts boxes. Am waiting on a set of decals from Ed at Drag City Castings to complete. Let me know what you think.

I recently had lunch with Hugh and what a fun time we had. Lots of great stories and a super nice guy.

He took me over to his house and showed me his museum of artifacts covering the walls. Here's the

car in the garage. Nice to see you building this and it's looking great!!!! Looking forward to the finished car..
