wayne swayze Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Some will do nasty things to this upcoming release...guaranteed! But I know to keep my mouth shut if I see something that I don't like.
Pim Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 these are awesome way more personality than a shiny rod
John Goschke Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 This one is well-conceived and well-executed. Also quite authentic to the late '40s, early '50s period. Doesn't deserve to be tarred with the same brush as those cartoon cars.
BIGTRUCK Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 At one time they had a huge venue called 'The Hunnert Car Pile Up' They have a huge following for the bulider with low budgets. Now I hear the 'Hunnert Car Heads Up Drags' at Byron Dragstrip in September 2015 racing all old skool cars. I like them all. http://public.fotki.com/bigtruck199/car_shows_11/hunnert-car-pile-up/

Jon Haigwood Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Not my idea of traditional but what ever floats your boat. Even an ugly kids is loved by someone.
Longbox55 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 That's the only one on this page worth looking at. What engine is that? It's a '55-'62 Chevrolet 235. It could also possibly be a '55-'58 261, would have to see the block a little better to tell for sure.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Oh, cool! Another '32 with an SBC engine! Wow!
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Well, you can build maggot-gagging puke, or you can build beautiful. It's all up to the builder, right? I prefer beautiful.
Deathgoblin Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 My question is: is there something wrong with the Model A grille/radiator? I notice almost every custom sticks the 32 grill on there, and I was always fond of the original.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Here's another picture of that zippo-grille car. I kinda like more.. dare-I-say "traditional" hot rods with same-size front and rears usually, and this could be helped with some.

It's just that they can tend to look a little too old-timey if not done right, especially on a non-fendered car. It IS an attractive grille shell, but it takes more effort to get one to look good on a rod...IMHO.
Longbox55 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 "Traditional" rods almost never had the same size tires front and rear. Rear tires were pretty much always larger, ambulance tires were very popular. The car that Ace posted is an excellent example of the common tire combo from the early days of rodding.
