bpletcher55 Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 started on making the little rust holes in the lower part of the cab , paint is Valspar creamy fields , with white ,
mike 51 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Both your trucks are pretty neat.. but I sure hope someone in the aftermarket offers a corrected grille soon...Those huge headlight doors really bug me.
kilrathy10 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Nice work, so far.....I like this one.....Looking great....
gatorincebu Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I like what I see thus far! I will be following this thread closely,As I have a kit in mind to do the same sort of treatment. Be Well Gator
Matt T. Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 ...but I sure hope someone in the aftermarket offers a corrected grille soon...Those huge headlight doors really bug me. I will be watching for a resin replacement too. If not, I'm wondering if slightly bigger headlight lenses would improve the OOB look? Revell's '32 3 window's bigger headlights might do the trick. Blair, I really like your shop trucks!

I haven't seen the 71 in person, but maybe the black headlight surrounds might help? I'm still amazed no one noticed the mistake before putting it into production.... Edited July 8, 2015 by mike 51
Olskoolrodder Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I'm loving the build/look of it so far,my friend, looks like another awesome build of it. Grille issues aside,it's a great looking kit to my eye. I have the '71 (haven't opened it yet),and have the '69 on order, you're builds have inspired me on them
mikemodeler Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 but I sure hope someone in the aftermarket offers a corrected grille soon...Those huge headlight doors really bug me. I am sure if you created a master for a correct grille, someone would cast it for the masses. I recall Chuck Most doing one for the AMT Ford pickups and it was picked up by a caster.
mustang1989 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Another great looking build Blair! I really like that background that you take all your pics with.
hotrod66c10 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Love the wheels. are you going to use a stock v8 or the stock i6? I'm a 6 cylinder guy my self.
Chuck Most Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Looking good Blair! And, since it was mentioned, I've heard of plans for one of the casters to do a corrected grille for these. I'll not be involved, but when/if it happens you'd best believe I'll spread the word.
crazyrichard Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 ooh whow what kit is this > make > brand .. love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bpletcher55 Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 I don,t see any thing wrong with the grill .after it is built it looks fine to me but I am not a bean counter so if it is off I cant tell ,

I wish I could ignore them but I can't. These trucks are still very common where I live..we see 'em everyday. Hopefully the aftermarket will fix what Moebius couldn't/wouldn't. See the 1-1 reference shots in the truck reference thread. The mistake is plain as day... Edited July 13, 2015 by mike 51
