Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted August 29, 2015 Author Posted August 29, 2015 (edited) I'm calling the interior done. I'm sure it's not to spec but close enough. Had to notch the wheel humps a bit to get the rear seat to sit right. Also can't find the decal sheet so I'll be printing a copy of the instrument cluster. Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted August 29, 2015 Author Posted August 29, 2015 I cut the chassis down to size. Again, sure it's not exactly like the 1:1 but it works. I'm waiting for a couple of sets of wheels & tires I ordered from Scenes Unlimited before I touch the suspension. If they're to large for the stock set up I'll lift the suspension. Or I may just leave it stock and use the Silverado wheels & tires.
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted August 29, 2015 Author Posted August 29, 2015 Mock up at stock ride height
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Impressive Work!!! I like old Blazers, and to door Tahoes.
Chevythunder85 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Im diggin the 99 and up alloys! Nice job on the tahoe!
hooknladderno1 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 You did a fantastic job on this conversion! As a builder of primarily emergency vehicles, I like the stock mock up! I can see some emergency lighting, creative graphics and gold leaf lettering... AWESOME! David
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 (edited) Thanks for the kind words guys, I appreciate that. I prefer the 2 door over the 4 door Tahoe and even the Suburban. It looks good stock, lifted and outfitted for emergencies. I agree, the '99+ alloys look better than the stockers. I think I'll de-chrome them, paint them silver and add some wash to them and see how that looks. And since I have a spare chassis, I'll leave one at stock height and lift the suspension on the other. Thanks again Edited August 30, 2015 by Perspective Customs
mustang1989 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Great modification work there Jay! Lookin' forward to more!

Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted September 2, 2015 Author Posted September 2, 2015 Wheels from Scenes Unlimited arrived. They are pretty big so I've started modifying the spare chassis.
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted July 25, 2016 Author Posted July 25, 2016 Wow, can't believe it's been almost a year. This project got pushed aside for other projects and I got hung up on making the side windows. I put some paint on it earlier this week. I have the windows cut just need to figure out how to tint them.
redneckrigger Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Wow! That is premium work you've done there! I love the two door versions of this truck, and you are dead on with your work! Keep the pics coming!!!!!
Modlbldr Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Wow! I love the conversion that you did on this. You should get back.on this and finish it up. Later-
Intmd8r Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I can't believe I missed this build the first time around. Nice work - love to see this finished!Very surprised that no one ever made the 2dr kits - such a popular truck among the enthusiasts!
kilrathy10 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Oh, that is remarkable work, my friend.....Extra nice....Makes me want to break that old Tahoe I have and get to cutting, myself.....What a great idea.....
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 , that is remarkable work, my friend.....Extra nice....Makes me want to break that old Tahoe I have and get to cutting, myself.....What a great idea..... I say go for it. It's not too difficult as long as you have the correct dimensions and get your cuts right. Thanks for the compliments guys! For me the big challenge was the side glass but I think I have that solved. I used a clear plastic package with four sides and a flat top and made a cut just where the plastic curves. It took many tries before i got it close to correct. The tint was also a challenge for me. Since the top of the glass is curved, 1:1 tint film didn't hold too well and there were a few air bubbles. That stuff works best with heat but of course plastic doesn't. I settled on spray paint that's used for tinting tail lights I wouldn't suggest using it on your 1:1 but it worked ok for this application. It made the glass a little cloudy but rubbing it with Weiman's helped a bit.
kilrathy10 Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 That looks pretty good.....Thanks for the tip....I'll have to look for some of that stuff....I would have thought it too caustic for styrene, but now I know....Totally gonna try that....
Intmd8r Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 FYI-I use peel 'n stick vinyl window tint "samples" or cuts for headlights sourced from eBay. Cost probably the same, but lot less mess. Plus-guaranteed even coverage every time. Bought a $7 roll 3-4 years ago, probably will last me a lifetime

Intmd8r Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Do you have a link for the peel n stick tint? search headlight tint on eBay. Thousands of hits & vendors. "metrorestyling" is the seller I bought mine from.
gatorincebu Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Jay, You've done a bit of work on this one since I last checked the thread. Looking good from here . Looking forward to seeing it finished. Be Well Gator
Ron Hamilton Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 That is some excellent work!!!! There was a one-to-one 2 door Jimmy at the shop where I get my truck serviced. It looked to be in pretty good shape. If only I had the cash, I would have snapped it up in a heartbeat.
