Chuck Most Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 This is the AMT reissue, with a shortened wheelbase, wheels and tires from an Italeri accessories set, modified cab steps, and a scratchbuilt wet tank, stacks, and air cleaner setup. I upgraded the engine to an NTC-350 using spare parts from a Road Boss. The paint and stripes need a little touch up here and there, but I'll take care of that once I finish up the gravel trailer for it.
angelo7 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 The shortened wheelbase makes a big difference. Looks really good. Great paint job.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Now that is one sharp looking Freightliner!! A real workhorse!
gatorincebu Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Chuck, I like it !! The wheelbase , the wheels and tires, paint job .Great combination. I think it will look good with the gravel bucket behind it. Be Well Gator
Christopher J Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 The kickin` it old school. Looks great. I like me stretched but what you did really for the truck. Looking forward to seeing what it looks like with the trailer.
Jim B Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 That's a great looking Freightliner, Chuck. Well done. I like it with the spokes & bigger tires. How much did you shorten the frame?
72 Charger Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 I like it a lot . Chuck where did the decals come from?
tbill Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 great looking rig Chuck, shorter wheel base really works on that truck.
Chuck Most Posted September 2, 2015 Author Posted September 2, 2015 Thanks guys! That's a great looking Freightliner, Chuck. Well done. I like it with the spokes & bigger tires. How much did you shorten the frame? It's cut down about an inch from what's in the kit. I doubt this wheelbase would be possible with the kit-supplied transmission, as the driveshaft is just over a scale foot long now! I like it a lot . Chuck where did the decals come from? Flag decals are from the Peterbilt 359, and the Thunder Sand & Gravel signs are from the gravel trailer kit. The yellow stripes are from an old Microscale sheet. And... here's the gravel trailer.
Chuck Most Posted September 2, 2015 Author Posted September 2, 2015 What about the mud flap decals ? I think those came from the Model King Allison Thunderland kit.
gatorincebu Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Chuck, That truck looks good with the gravel bucket ! Nice job on both. Be Well Gator
72 Charger Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I think those came from the Model King Allison Thunderland kit. Thanks Chuck Fantastic Freightliner BTW
kilrathy10 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Oh, that looks amazing.....The wheels and tires really set it off.....They look awesome on that Freightliner.....Never would have thought of using those for this one.....And it looks even more imposing with the gravel trailer attached to it.....I love the color scheme, too.....You've done an amazing job on this one, Chuck.....Hats off to you.....
