Mopar - D Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 This is the new Moebius 65 Plymouth Satellite. I'm going with a yellow gold (HH1) with a white top and black interior. Going with the factory stock build on this one. So far I've installed the front and rear panels and the front iner fender walls before spraying. Here's my progress so far. I BMF the emblems before spraying the yellow gold and then I rubbed it off
'70 Grande Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Myself, (plus another 100 or so forum members), will be watching your build as it progresses! So far, your paint and foil work look excellent!
Custom Mike Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Excellent color choice! I'm waiting to see just how well this kit goes together, I'm trying to find a reason to not buy one...I'm waiting for the Ventura!
Greg Pugh Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I just purchased one of these myself. I'd like to see how yours comes out.
carcrazy19 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I'm looking to seeing the progress to. What did you use to rub the paint off of the BMF. I want to try this technique on future builds. Also, do you first spray the color on and rub it off before spraying the clear coat.
charlie8575 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I like that color. Very nice selection.I'm thinking black with a red interior for mine.Charlie Larkin
Mopar - D Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 Anthony I place the BMF on after I primer and clean off the paint after each coat with either a tooth pick soaked in paint thinner or the new BMF scribe that I received at the Austin model show. It's nylon stick with beveled ends. I clear coat after cleaning off the paint. Thanks for the comments so far everything is fitting together good.

Mopar - D Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 I have a Question. What color was the 426 Wedge in 65. I've seen Hemi Orange and have reference with turquoise and Moebius has Blue. I think it should be the Hemi Orange.
Exotics_Builder Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 I have a Question. What color was the 426 Wedge in 65. I've seen Hemi Orange and have reference with turquoise and Moebius has Blue. I think it should be the Hemi Orange. In researching, as best as I could determine, I found that Chrysler Engine Blue was the color. Does not appear Turquoise but Testor's Engine Blue seems darker than photos.
BubbaBrown Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 All R and RB engines 1962-1971 mopar turqouise . race onlyMax wedge and Hemi were orange.
Mopar - D Posted October 24, 2015 Author Posted October 24, 2015 Thanks Joseph, that confirms the 65 brochure I found with it being turquoise.
Mopar - D Posted October 24, 2015 Author Posted October 24, 2015 My progress is moving along I've started wet sanding the body and painted the interior. Today I plan to paint the top white and work on the engine. Here's where I'm at now.
Mopar - D Posted October 25, 2015 Author Posted October 25, 2015 Here's today's progress. Built and painted the engine and worked on the dash board.
Greg Pugh Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Your steering wheel is too far away from your dash. Is the steering column inserted all of the way? What did you use for the silver finish on the dash trim? It looks great!
Mopar - D Posted October 25, 2015 Author Posted October 25, 2015 Greg thanks the steering wheel is just a test fit for the picture I used Testors Aluminum plate spray for the silver.
Greg Pugh Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Ok. I thought that might be the case after I wrote that.
