image.thumb.jpeg.56815a1bb923e8d84d902a1Because of the amount of kits I have in progress and the fact I'll be working out of town for awhile, I have been resisting the start of one of two 29's I have in my head. But with the amount of talented builders working on this great kit and the knowledge being shared. I believe it's important to strike while the iron is hot.

This being the first build will be box stock, adding nothing but the allowable paint. It will be a "Highboy" and should be a good way to gain insight for the next 29, which won't be a Highboy! I decided to do the wheels and tires first. Model Master Sublime Green for accent, Tamiya Cockpit Green is the main color.

I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who is building this kit right now. Your knowledge and skills are the best in the hobby. Thanks...

Here is I shot right before I applied the flat clear. After the decals and the black wash were dry, I removed the HC and covered the wheels with dimes, tapped the combo to a piece of cardboard and then spayed them with Testors Flat Clear. After they dried I used floor polish to keep the HC and rings in place.

I like the color scheme you have planned.

I still find it comical that Revell included whitewall decals for these tires, considering that Firestone (and now Coker) never made them that way.

It may not look like much but that chassis does not have one mold line or ejector pin in it any more.  Filled with putty, sanded smooth and primed in white, ready for paint

James...looks promising.  You've probably already taken care of this, but I don't see it in your pix, so just wanted to make sure you paint the rear fenderwells (which are stamped into the two interior sidewalls) body color while you've got that paint out.  I've tried it by masking off the interior color and adding the body color on the fenderwell area, and also by simply cutting away the fenderwells from the interior stamping and painting them along with the other body parts.  Both approaches work pretty well.

Will be watching as you bring this one to completion....TIM

Thanks for the encouragement guys.

Tim your insight is always welcome, and I chose to paint the fender wells with the body and then tape the green off while I painted the interior color.

Ill up date all three colors when I have time. Thanks again!

A side from working out of town and building to many models at once and then trying to keep the home fires burning, I spent Saturday starting a side job. Bath remodel for a wonderful customer. So it is safe to say no progress on the Envy 29A this weekend!
