Psychographic Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 It is really not my style to spread stuff like this around, but for some reason this really hit me hard when I read it ( enough so, to bring me out of my self appointed exile from forums). All this little girl is asking for is some cards. A dollar store card and a stamp is less than a bottle of paint, or a tube of glue. I myself lost the holiday spirit years ago, but that doesn't mean I don't have a heart. I just can't stand to see a child go through what this poor girl has endured and will for the rest of her life. I do not know this girl, but I do remember reading about the tragedy of the fire which killed the rest of her family and how her dad covered her with his body to protect her. http://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/mind-and-soul/this-orphaned-burn-victim-lost-her-family-in-an-arson-attack—all-she-wants-for-christmas-is-your-cards/ar-AAgaMB9?ocid=ansmsnlife11 I sure hope this doesn't break any forum rules. If it does, I apologize. Thank you, Dave

Harry P. Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Why the self-imposed exile from the forum?
vintagedragcrazy Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 I usually don't send Christmas cards but there's no time like now to start.vince
charlie8575 Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Saw this on the news this morning. That little girl is T-O-U-G-H. I'll chip in.Charlie Larkin
cobraman Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 I put the word out to all my friends and family today. I hope she gets a boat load of cards.
Dave Van Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Sent one......my grown kids are too. We NEED something positive in this age. One other thing....maybe not all can do...but something I support. Get a 'Angle Tree' name from a TRUSTED community service provider. We did one for a local 3 yo.....can't imagine a 3 to not getting something. THANKS
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Saw this on the news this morning. That little girl is T-O-U-G-H. I'll chip in.Charlie LarkinX2. Just looking in her mirror must take more guts than I've ever had to muster up on my worst nightmare day. Incredible little kid. Damm. Sure makes me wish I had Bill Gates' money (to get her the best surgical reconstruction available). Hmmmm...maybe we should start a fund to help get her on her way...of if it's already been started, look into donating. No child should have to go through life like that.
vintagedragcrazy Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 First thing on my list today was get a card and send it which I did I hope she gets a million cards!!! vince
JollySipper Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 My Mom, sister, and I are all sending her one........ I too hope she gets a BUNCH of cards, from all over!
High octane Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 While I didn't have any Christmas cards suitable for an 8 year old, I was out & about today and picked up one. I mailed it today as I had to pick up stamps at the post office for all my other cards. Hopefully life will get better for her in the near future.
Nacho Z Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 ABC's World News Tonight ran a short spot on this tonight. It showed her getting her first batch/bundles of cards. It was a nice, touching, story.
426-Hemi Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 -Will be sending a card too! Thats some story, that poor little girl..... God Bless her!Sadly guys, I think at times for all of us, we take things for granted. Not knowing or realizing that there are others much less fortunate as we......Even in some of our own bad times, there is always someone, somewhere much worse off..... As a father, I'da done just what hers did! And sadly, I've been put through my paces with things lately, BUT that too, I don't feel sorry for myself, BUT to see this, makes me think of my own little girl. Shes 10, BUT, not once had to face what this little girl wanting Christmas cards did and will continue to face has..... -I'll be showing this to my Wife as well......
cobraman Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Last I saw she had received hundreds of cards and toys such as stuffed animals.
vintagedragcrazy Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I hope if someone sees any updates they post it. I think this is such an awsome thing to do and impressed that a bunch of old guys have such a big heart and this little girl has an awsome Christmas. I showed this to my daughter and grandson and when he left he was going home to make her a special homemade card that made me feel good him and his brother are 5 and 2 and it even touched them.vince
cobraman Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Hey guys ! I thought you would all like to know that I just read an article about this poor little girl. Her Christmas wish to get Christmas cards was granted. As of now she has received over 300,000 pieces of mail including gifts and toys. 300,000 ! Lots of good people still left in this world.
