Kit Basher Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 (edited) This one is mostly a paint experiment, that surprisingly worked out. The body paint is Testors square bottle "Turn Signal Amber" over a white base. It gave a nice metallic/pearl effect. Unfortunately, the ol' December sun isn't strong enough to really show the "sparkle". The top is Tamiya "Racing White". It's the Revell "California Wheels" kit, pretty much OOB except changing the wheels and tires. Edited December 10, 2015 by Kit Basher

Kit Basher Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 Your model is so nice Harry didn't even mention the lack of a mirror !LOL, I was waiting for that!
Kit Basher Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 (edited) LOL. OK Harry, I'm busted. The outside mirrors are two part, mirror and mount. Trying to glue those two tiny chrome pieces together with no glue showing was more than I wanted to tackle. I fully intended to put in the inside mirror, and I just plain forgot. I grovel in shame and beg forgiveness! Edited December 11, 2015 by Kit Basher
Harry P. Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Well, as long as you're groveling in shame I guess it's ok...

DRIPTROIT 71 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 The colors are awesome!! I've always wanted to paint a build "turn signal amber". Very nice build!!!
Kit Basher Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 Thanks, Brian. Since the amber is translucent, it makes a big difference what color you put under it. I tried gold, silver, orange, and white. I liked the white base best. The orange wasn't bad, tho. If someone wanted "pearl orange", I think it would work. I may play around with "Stop light red" next.
vintagercr Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I really like the colour......nice clean build
bbowser Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Looks great, especially out in the sun it really pops.
