Very very Nice PatB)

I think we have a contender !! Nice big beautiful front A arms !!

Agreed! Interesting engine choice, a straight six rather that the usual V8?

Not bad Pat, agree with the engine choice ;)

The Police will probably throw the book at you for exposed tyres, you adding flares to the guards mate?

I had a hunch that the pegasus rotors would go over the stub of the Jeep wheels.. and I was right!

So now the Bronco will have 4 wheel disc brakes!

I think it's about time to post mine. I'll be rampaging through the Outback in a modified '70 Dodge Coronet. Plans are for something along the lines of the Furious 7 Charger, not as fancy or flashy though. Like last year something a moderately skilled person could pull off. I'm going to try scratching a truck 4x4 frame, if that fails I'll seek out a good junkyard donor or something. Probably keep the 426 and see about making one of those Edelbrock Fuel injection carb systems.

Can't wait to see your finished ride, since I'm doing a Charger in a similar style B) ...the ol' dodges are gonna be killin' it down under!

Great work Pat, there are a lot of cool builds happening. Some really nice roll cages on every build, very intimating as I haven't built one before. I'm off to a bad start tried using some heat to straighten the chassis and melted it. Not to big of a deal I'm going to rework most of that any way. I'm looking for some opinion though, is the cars ride height to low? Seems that everyone is going pretty high up.

Bit of a bummer with the chassis pan Bill, I've finished my entry which is a WRC Toyota Corolla (Monte Carlo version) I've done a slight ride height adjustment to mine....approx a scale inch just to give it a bit of clearance on the rough sections of road ;)

It looks good as it sits for off-tar roads, but for off-road more heigh might be helpful. If you're ambitious you could grab a Daisy Dukes Jeep CJ-5 and extend the chassis a scale 2 or 3-inches to put under your Stratos.

Checking in, nothing visually but boy there's a ton of work happening in my head. If only actual building went as easy. :D

If it's not too late, I'd like to join in. I have a couple of these unbuilt from a while back and have some ideas on an offroad version. Something like the second picture.

I got busy with work and then we went to the coast for a couple of days,

so I haven't made much progress, however I did get the wheel wells opened up.

It looks like I can just flip the entire rear suspension and it'll be high enough

fornground clearance. Probably I'll stick with 2wd like the original.

Looks good Gary, like what your intentions are for this!

ps: I'm eyeing off that Landrover behind...Italeri kit?

Posted (edited)

I'm aiming for something along the lines of a modern version of the original BRE Baja car. Sort of a Prerunner style with a modern drivetrain and such. And the Landie is the original Monogram kit. It has been my arch nemesis for years. Every time I think I have it coming along nicely, something goes wrong. It has been stripped 3 times because of bad paint and it broke in half twice. I'm currently trying again...
