smellyfatdude Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 I showed off a sneak peek at this one in the Jo-han models thread. Here it is now, with the foil done and the wash added to the panel lines. The paint is Duplicolor bright aqua teal, with Krylon Dual satin ivory on the roof. The interior is Duplicolor GM light blue, and some shade of white that I can't remember. This is just a quick mockup to see if I like my choice of wheels (Moebius ' 56 300). Approval is given.
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Great looking car. Wheels an excellent choice for it too.
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Looks great Smelly! The color is terrific & you can't go wrong with wire wheels on these old Mopars.I've used Modelhaus wires on several of my early 60s Mopar builds & they look great!Build on! Steve
louie Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Yes, yes, yes. Nice. nice. nice. What a good looking car and a definite YES on the wheels. Thanks. Jeff
dragzz Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 thats does look great nice on the paint well done
ChrisBcritter Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 To be honest, I love the wheels but I might go with tires with a little smaller diameter to lower it a bit - how do the Moebius tires compare in size to the new AMT wide whites (or the American SATCO tires if you have them)?
Modelbuilder Mark Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Great looking work on a car i like seeing. I have one under primer in the project queue. Are you using the kit chassis our swapping it out for a better detailed version?
charlie8575 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I do like that color combo and the wheels are great. The ribbed inserts on the seats and carpet should be closer to navy blue, but the light blue vinyl and dash, from what I've been able to tell, are right.Another super-nice job.Charlie Larkin
smellyfatdude Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 The ribbed inserts on the seats and carpet should be closer to navy blue, but the light blue vinyl and dash, from what I've been able to tell, are right. The interior is far from finished. I was actually saving that for last, since it's likely to try my patience. Wasn't trying for a factory color combo, either inside or out. I'll settle for "looks nice".
Deathgoblin Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Very Nice!! I really wish they would re-pop the Jo-Han kits. Yeah, I know, the molds are all gone now...
JTalmage Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Wow wow wow. beautiful. Can't wait to see it done
