Snake45 Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 I have and have built the Porsche Carrera and the Ferrari 308. Both came out quite nice. I have the 924 still new in the box. Molded in red, I'm going to polish the plastic. No, it's not for sale or swap.

Right as the Bankruptcy was filed I was talking to RM about these kits. I was asked to send more info, boxes etc. Days later the fall came and that went away. I hope Atlantis does have these curbside kits.

A common misconception. Note that both RM and AMT etal have been sold several times. That means that somebody owes something on the purchase of all the tooling, no matter how old it is. It's like saying my house is "Bought and paid for" because it's 50 years old, never mind that I bought it 10 years ago and will be paying it off for the next 20!

Well said........true it's not paying a tool maker for a all new tool.....but someone had to buy it (tooling) more recently.
unclescott58 Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 Finally got the Mercedes 450SL. Still wish Revell would consider reissuing the entire series.
89AKurt Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 I picked up the Triumph TR8 recently, already have plans for it. I think it begs to be a Shooting Brake, there was someone who built two that are horribly ugly. Built the TR7 when it was a new kit (last century) with some modifications.

A lot like a cross between the Prototype Triumph Linx and the Reliant Scimitar

unclescott58 Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 (edited) I like the TR8 shooting brake idea. I think the sketches you made Geoff look great. Go for it. I'd love to see when your done. Edited April 7, 2020 by unclescott58

stavanzer Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 Man, that Little Merc is a sharp looking kit. I had one 30 years ago. I truly regret getting rid of it.

stavanzer Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Well, we got the Mazda RX-7 as a 2n1 kit a couple years ago. Maybe, Revell will come up with others. The 450SL would make a great 2n1 kit, as would the Datsun 240 Z car. That said, it is time to go haunting the 'Bay, I guess.

I have both version of the Datsun Z, indeed I have that very yellow one as that's my photo that looks like it arrived on here before me ? Here's the road car: Monogram 1:24 Datsun 280Z (S30) by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr I built the TR7 when I was young, maybe 11-12, but sadly all that survives of that one are the wheels and tyres and the instruction sheet. Would like to get another someday, but I've always been outbid. I started a Revell issue Ferrari 308 for a build-off on another forum back in 2008, but still haven't finished it. I think something is preventing the bodyshell, glass and chassis fitting together nicely, if I can work that out then I'll complete it. Maybe one for my holiday period, or a future B.O.Y.D. entry? The wheels and tyres with the Datsuns and TR7 are pretty nice - I have something in mind for those off the TR7, the Z Road Racer donated its set to my recently-built Nissan Sunny truck, and the slotmags on the red Z are fitted on the Datsun Roadster which I'm currently progressing. I found this thread by chance when I was pondering a quick holiday build of the yellow Z, started it last night.....
