I just heard that Revell is suppose to release in the first quarter of this year a `67 Camaro RS/SS Nickey kit under their Motor City Muscle banner.  I`m also pleased to see a "Nickey" car being done..after all Motion and Yenko weren't the only players in the dealer prepped hi-performance super car game during the `60-70. Does anyone have any additional info on this new arrival?

speaking of "goofs" your link goes to the instuctions for thier awfull 914 kit....

"awfull 914 kit"? I liked the one I build 2-3 years ago. A little fiddly, but it turned out pretty nice.

RS grille and a '67 Vette "stinger" type hood are the major highlights of the thing.

It would have been nice if Revell had included the "SS" hood with this kit (although easily sourced from the earlier release) as the stinger hood was an option and wasn't on every Nickey Camaro. Several years ago I was able to pick up a 1967 Nickey Chevrolet catalog, interesting to see the prices from back then.

A former co-worker bought an original, 30,000 mile Nickey 67 Camaro back in 1981 for $3,500, almost what they went for new! He enjoyed that car (talk about horsepower!) for about a year before trading it even up for a '66 Corvette Convertible 427/425, another fun car!

I will pick this kit up for the pieces needed to replicate that car, although his had a cowl induction hood that the previous owner had installed.

Some things you all did not seem to catch from the instruction sheet - Deluxe interior, Torque Ds, tail panel with backup lights, intake, etc.  And the important Stinger hood and new grille.  Looks like a good one!

I did notice the new wheels. Too bad they're sized to fit those undersized generic tires Revell's been putting in their kits lately

I'll definitely be getting one though..

Even though I already have several of the existing Revell '67 Camaro kits, I will be buying a couple more just for the reasons you pointed out above!

As far as the wheels go, maybe one of the resin casters offer some better fitting tires or can cast some up!

As I scanned the instruction sheet I also noticed a number of the things you pointed out. Not only does the kit have Torque D`s they come with "knock off" center caps. Have not seen kitted knockoff center caps since the Revell `67 Vette coupe/roadster kit. And, that was a loooong time ago.

Did this NICKEY tune only Camaro or the whole Chevrolet line up?

Nickey, like Motion, would build you pretty much anything you wanted or could dream up and pay for.

Thanks guys.

Some ideas pop up like the 67 Impala station wagon, would be a cool sleeper.

That's the great thing about car modeling. Just because some factory, dealer, or race team never built some particular car doesn't mean that YOU can't. Dream it up and build it! B)

Nickey not only performance tuned any G.M product they were the first Chevy dealership to give their customer three options: Stage I, Stage II, and Stage III. That was eventually copied by Motion Performance, who had Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III performance packages. Nickey Chevrolet is still live and well today see attached link.

Getting ready for this kit and need some help finding a suitable source for some Emerald Turquoise paint to replicate a friends' 67 Nickey. I see Testors has a spray enamel that is pretty close, any other suggestions that aren't pricey? Wasn't certain MCW had the correct color and at $15 a can, didn't want to guess!

Thanks in advance for the help.

Get the MCW color, looking at MCW catalog their 6700 Emerald Turq.Met. is the correct color. You won't find anything in Testors that comes close to matching as Emerald Turq. is a very distinctive color, actually my favorite GM color for 1967.

Dunno about the Emerald Turquoise if that's what you want. But if you mean the other Chevy Turquoise that year, Tahoe Turquoise, Testor has a metallic Teal in the small bottles that looks remarkably close to that.

Here's a '67 Nickey in Tahoe Turquoise:

Mike- Thanks, I will order the paint from MCW, I haven't been able to find anything else close and I appreciate the help.

Snake- the car is definitely painted Emerald Turquoise, but I might get the Tahoe Turquoise for another build!
