oldcarfan Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 I was wondering if it is possible to use the new wagon kit and the old Ranchero to come up with a correct Ranchero? I also would love to have a series of 1958 Fords. I have a 58 wagon promo somewhere, but it is so warped there isn't even enough to kit bash...
ChrisBcritter Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Speaking of Rancheros, I saw a 57 Ranchero 4x4 in traffic yesterday.. '58 with that rear bumper, if it hasn't been swapped...
High octane Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Revell will be at NNL East. Ed hinted that the needed more table space because they had a lot of cool things to show us....That request doesn't mean a thing as far as the Ranchero goes.
Rob Hall Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 '58 with that rear bumper, if it hasn't been swapped...Definitely a '57..I saw the front.

A lot of "finessing" would be necessary. Now, since I didn't have the Del Rio at the time, I can't say if the "stock" Ranchero parts will work with the wagon kit. I'm guessing the bed would be too long, for starters. But it IS easier to remove than to add plastic. Even if it could be done, I have enough to keep me busy until Revell puts a new one out, because it will have the new decals, and hopefully the Ranchero emblem on the tail gate (it's not on the original).

Tom Geiger Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 That request doesn't mean a thing as far as the Ranchero goes. Yea but a bunch of guys can reinforce our collective desire for a new Ranchero kit. That goes a long way!

gtx6970 Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I would rather a conversion of the whole kit to a 1958 ,,,but that's just me ......The Ranchero ,,of any year does nuttin for me .Although I could see it happening pretty easily with the wagon a basis
Rob Hall Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 (edited) A Ranchero would be nice. And I'd really like to see a Ranchero GT based on the '70 Torino GT. Edited April 5, 2016 by Rob Hall

tim boyd Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 ... I'd really like to see a Ranchero GT based on the '70 Torino GT.Rob...be still, my heart! That one would be a KILLER....I'm picturing the Ranchero Squire with the 429 Cobra Jet with its Ram Air hood scoop.....Where I grew up in Ann Arbor, the best independent mechanic/garage in town was Illi's Auto Service....and the owner Ron(?) Illi had a new '70 Ranchero Squire Ram Air setup just that way....I remember it being the dark Ford green metallic that year and with a Black Vinyl Roof. Adding the wood and moldings would seem like too much...but in this case it worked brilliantly. He would park that car at the front of his lot on Huron Street (the main drag from downtown Ann Arbor to the western nieghborhoods) and it just shone like a jewel every time I drove by.... TIM

I would love to have a '70 Ranchero GT kit !! I had a '70 GT some years ago : Cleveland 2 Bbl , FMX , 9" with 3.50 / Locker . Okay , Revell , if you're reading this , and are giving consideration to such a project , please give the kit a 351-C along with the 429 .
