Porscheman Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I started this at lunch time today. I couldn't find any mold lines, so cleanup was fast. I painted it Dupli-color Bright Toreador Red over silver primer with Testors Wet Look clear top coats. Stripes are automotive silver pin striping. I painted the wheels gloss black. Fun build, Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
Bennyg Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Looks great. Those snap kits seem to have a lot of potential now.Ben
martinfan5 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Thats a nice shade of red you used, what is it ?

High octane Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Hmmmm, while I usually don't build models cars later than the early 70's, that 2017 looks great and may be a good "slump buster" as well. Here's a couple of photos that I shot at the Chicago Auto Show last month.
unclescott58 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Lovely. Waiting for mine to come through the mail.
kelson Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 That looks real nice, did you do any detail painting in the interior as well?
V8 Trucker Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Looks great. Those snap kits seem to have a lot of potential now.BenI agree
Mike 1017 Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Nice paint job. Gotta get one. I hope a Skill Level 3 is not far away
kilrathy10 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Man, I didn't know this one was out, yet.....Cool.....Looks pretty good for a snapper.....Great build.....On a side note, I went to the car show this year, here in Houston, and didn't see this one.....They had the Raptor, but not this.....Oh well....Great job....I like your color choices....
JK Flash Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Very nice build, I really dig the color. I have painted and detailed a few snap kits. They provide a nice break if you are stuck waiting for paint to dry, glue to set, or if you have been working on some kit for weeks and need to finish something.
Platerpants Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Very nice work, cant wait to find one for myself, I love a good snap kit seems like sometimes the snappers have a better subject matter than the glue kits.
Porscheman Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) Thanks everyone. This is a real nice kit, that just needs some added attention to bring it out to a nice replica. I changed the stripes to gold. How does it look now? Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Edited March 29, 2016 by Porscheman
bbowser Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 That looks like a really nice kit. Looks like all it needs is a little massaging of the glass and headlight covers to be outstanding. I like the silver stripe version BTW.
RestoModGuy Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Real nice Al... The gold stripes look great on that red
