I rebuilt all three to factory stock. I need friends like that!!! ? Especially the 60 Buick, I've got all the parts to build one - except the body! Anyone know where to find some "hen's teeth"?

Anyone know where to find some "hen's teeth"? If you watch eBay long enough, sooner or later everything will turn up. You should be able to find a roached-looking glue bomb at an affordable price. ETA: Here's a savable promo for just $30, Buy It Now--or make offer! https://www.ebay.com/itm/294493829042?hash=item44913337b2:g:-KUAAOSw9BlhduRk And here's a built glue bomb currently at $9.50 but with 6 days still to go--no telling what it'll go for but looks promising: https://www.ebay.com/itm/265388721275?hash=item3dca66847b:g:b84AAOSwXnlhgbDd Edited November 3, 2021 by Snake45
Keef Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 Got these for $5 each at a local collectibles shop 1
Snake45 Posted November 13, 2021 Author Posted November 13, 2021 Ya done good. I could have at least $5 worth of fun out of each of those. Model on!
Oldcarfan27 Posted November 14, 2021 Posted November 14, 2021 Keef, dude you scored!! A collectible store who didn't know what they had.
Tom Geiger Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 A glue bomb that had been in the bottom of one of my parts boxes a very long time. This summer it got fished out and wound up on top of my model room TV just to get it out of the way. Note that I probably have a dozen of this kit. Was this one valuable? Nope! Would the average modeler restore it? Nope! But it was calling my name! So I decided it indeed deserved to live again! I am pleased to have made something from nothing. 1

Suburban_Hooligan Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 (edited) i unfortunately don't have any "before" pic's. but this was a quick clean up i did last year. it went from 2 bad paint jobs, one over the other, and i think the first one was done with a brush, a slight over use of glue, a poorly made intake manifold, some miss aligned front end pieces, and a missing scoop, to this. i stripped it down bare and started over. ...probably should have replaced the tires... Tom Geiger Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 Started with this mess… I’m very pleased with this transformation! 2
bbowser Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 I don't normally restore stuff but I picked this up the other day on eBay, I love these cars and virgin kits are sky high.
Snake45 Posted November 21, 2021 Author Posted November 21, 2021 Great glue bomb, looks very restorable--good luck with it and keep us posted on progress!

Mike C. Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I can't believe that I would leave those Mopar valve covers chrome. I would have.never done that today. Can you tell I'm a fan of that FJ5 green?
Snake45 Posted November 30, 2021 Author Posted November 30, 2021 Mike, those aren't glue bombs. They just need to be finished. Looks like they'd finish up nicely, too. Maybe "Let's See Your Abandoned Projects" would make a good thread. Oh wait, it's been done--it was called "Bring Out Your Dead."
Mike C. Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I think I may have misunderstood the jist of the thread. I'll have to look up the other thread.
Earl Marischal Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Found this in a box in the garage. I can recognise some parts, like the grille/front axle from the Monogram Dragstrip Hot Rod '32 (my favourite kit) and the wheels & tyres that came off a Can Am racer. Can't place the rest though. I cobbled it together in the late 1960s and think I will just restore it essentially as it stands. Shouldn't take long!* steve * Famous last words... 1
Bullybeef Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 While it’s not a vintage kit, it is a glue bomb, last picture is the pile of glue from the tear down. The front axle was the only part that didn’t survive. It will live on again, the painted parts are languishing in the purple pond. 1 1

And are already a strong contender for the 2022 award! Can't wait to see what you do with it. Model on! 1
