shoopdog Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Hello everyone. Thought I would share my just completed Revell 67 Charger. When box art started showing up of the newest MPC 67 Charger I knew I had to get one, then I saw the REVELL kit and purchased it. Not my favorite Mopar body style but I could get very used to it in my garage. Built box stock and painted Tamiya Light Pearl Red which is fairly close to the factory color mauve " I think anyway ". Thinking about getting another one and keeping it stock without the race decals and painting it the same color. Thanks for looking.
Helix Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Nice build Keith, don't mind the '67 Charger, recently purchased the 'Foose' kit, but I'll build that stock
Crazy Ed Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Well done outta the Box Build with Paintbrush Detailing.
Snake45 Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Wow, that paint does put you in mind of that weird "Mauve" color. I've never seen a Charger that color but there used to be a beautiful restored '66 Barracuda that color in my area, so I know it existed.
shoopdog Posted April 29, 2016 Author Posted April 29, 2016 Well done outta the Box Build with Paintbrush Detailing. Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I'm really liking this color, will have to pick up another can, maybe for a Cadillac. First can of Tamiya paint I had used and really like the way it went on. I don't get along well with BMF, don't know if I purchased an old sheet or what but I haven't had much luck with it.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Are the vent windows separate pieces? Separate nightmares, like in the AMT 1962 Thunderbird. That's how I call them. Like that car is a convertible, aligning up the windshield frame and both vents is not for the faint of heart
shoopdog Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 Are the vent windows separate pieces?Yes they are seperate and like Tulio said they are quite difficult to get in position. I knocked the drivers side loose when I was putting the body on the chassis, grrrrr.
Rider Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 That is so cool, one of my fav body styles. Your work is so clean, and the paint looks great, nice going. The one thing l would add is. I love seeing how much care and attention gets put into these builds with all the BMF work and detail painting of the dash etc. I am always left wondering why not go the extra bit and add plug wires, just curious is all.
shoopdog Posted May 1, 2016 Author Posted May 1, 2016 Thanks for the compliments, I guess the only excuse for not wiring the engine is the fact that all my models are displayed with the hoods on in a wall display case. Yes I agree wired engines look fantastic, and I will attempt on my next builds. Just now getting more comfortable doing some foil work and painting trim after some 50 models.
DeeCee Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Looks real good, i like this body style myself, am building one at the moment.
drodg Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Nice stance also did you do anything different with the front suspension?
shoopdog Posted May 5, 2016 Author Posted May 5, 2016 Thanks everybody.Nice stance also did you do anything different with the front suspension? No modifications at all, built box stock. I do wish I raised the rear just a bit.
shoopdog Posted May 5, 2016 Author Posted May 5, 2016 Where are the windshield wipers?Drag racer, no wipers, no mirrors.
