Bought this little 1/43 Starter Daytona kit on ebay. It had been partially done but not much. Windshield and rear window have yellowed but I guess I will have to live with that. Going to do it in red I think.

Could you try Headlamp restoration polish from an automotive store? its suppose to get rid of yellowing and restore clarity.

I've built a bunch of Cobra and GT40 1/43 kits.  I know Marsh models is still in business - I've gotten replacement parts from them.  I guess Starter is lone gone though :-(

Got this little Cobra painted, decaled and cleared. Still need to detail and assemble. Also need to try and cut out the headlight covers without messing them up.

The yellowing of those vac-u-form parts does not polish out.  It's in the plastic and when the kits were new many were already that way.

But since you went with red (a warm color) the yellowish tint will not be too obvious on the finished car.  Especially with a black interior.

Try the lenses covers you can buy at the dollar store to put over cell phone touch screens. They might be thin enough that you can form them over the stock lenses with some warm water. The paint looks great, looking forward to seeing it done....still my all time favourite car.

Thank you guys ! Yes, I tried to polish the yellowed windows.......... did not work. I have the windows in and they are now drying. Will try and put the finishing touches tomorrow. Just need to detail and assemble.

That won't change the coloring (in a positive way), but it will add a layer that makes it harder to see through.  It does not conform to compound curves very well either.

Car is done. The headlight covers were a pain and I did not do them all that good. Photos in the "Under Glass " section tomorrow.
