Roadrunner Posted July 5, 2016 Author Posted July 5, 2016 The interior color looks great! BTW what paint/color did you use? It does look a bit like Tamiya Desert Yellow.I like it too, so thanks. It's actually Floquil Earth. I have a few dozen bottles of the old Floquil paints that I tend to use for various things.
250 Testa Rossa Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 I will most likely be using this topic as a guide when I build my Bullitt Charger using the same kit.

Roadrunner Posted July 6, 2016 Author Posted July 6, 2016 OK, dash gets some not so delicate washes, using acrylics. (I hate using acrylics for this, but I'm out of the needed colors in enamels, so will hold off on doing the rest of the interior until I have them.) Once this is thoroughly dry, I'll dry brush with the base color, softening everything up a bit.
Modlbldr Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Kevin, This is all looking GREAT! That Floquil Earth color choice is spot on. I'll be keeping an eye on your build.I have painted my Willys hood this morning for the 5th time. It's looking good so far. Can't wait to finish it up.Later-
Roadrunner Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 Thanks, fellas. I've been looking high and low for my BMF, but can't seem to find it anywhere. I'd like to do the door panels and get started on the body chrome, but the stuff has just disappeared.

I think I know what Willys you're referring to, but can't seem to find it. Do you have a link to it?
Modlbldr Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 (edited) It's the gren one I posted a photo of on pg 2. I haven't made a posting for it because that tends to jinx me ever finishing a build. Lol. Once I finish it I'll post it in the Under Glass section.Later- Edited July 7, 2016 by Modlbldr

Once I finish it I'll post it in the Under Glass section.Later- OK, thanks. My BMF has still not been found, and that's frustrating the heck out of me. I just bought it a couple of months back, and can't figure out for the life of me where it is.
Kit Basher Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 You will find that BMF two weeks after you buy some more!
Roadrunner Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 You will find that BMF two weeks after you buy some more! Oh yes, I'm quite confident of that. I have another project (1:32 aircraft) that I'm trying to finish by September 10th, so I may switch back to that for a while.
Roadrunner Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 OK, as coincidence would have it, the Testors Earth is a bit darker than the counterpart Floquil color, so I took the opportunity to use it as a wash on the rear seat area. (Front seats and door panels still need some work, so I'll give them the same treatment later.) While this is not a radical improvement, I still think it gives a bit of "character" to the area.
Roadrunner Posted July 21, 2016 Author Posted July 21, 2016 OK, I ordered some new BMF today, should be here by Saturday or Monday, then I can get cranking on this baby again. I'm a happy guy! (My other two sheets will probably surface now.)
Roadrunner Posted July 21, 2016 Author Posted July 21, 2016 nice !!!Thanks, Richard. I'm certainly looking forward to wrapping this one up.
mustang1989 Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Still lookin' good there Kevin!! I really like that dash pad man.
Roadrunner Posted July 23, 2016 Author Posted July 23, 2016 Thanks, fellas, I'm getting seriously pumped about this baby. My supplies arrived yesterday as anticipated, including yet more BMF, so work will resume on this, post haste.
Roadrunner Posted July 24, 2016 Author Posted July 24, 2016 OK, this bright chrome BMF is absolutely horrible, and is already in the trash. I'll be ordering some of the good stuff today, it looks like. I find this very, very frustrating, but really see no other options.
Janne Herajärvi Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 That "ultra bright" foil is not worthy to buy, last time i got it, becouse i did not have choices.. it can be used for some places, but foiling whole build with it is pain! 68 Charger is maybe my favourite model year, your progress looks good.. Im impressed you guys who looks like to paint almost everything wth airbrush, since im too lacy for doing that.. Maybe thats why i use just brushes, or if i go wicked i may take a spray paint..
Roadrunner Posted July 25, 2016 Author Posted July 25, 2016 Thanks, Janne. I love using the airbrush, it may just be one of my favorite modeling tasks.
Roadrunner Posted July 27, 2016 Author Posted July 27, 2016 MY BMF arrived today, the "new improved" variety.
Roadrunner Posted July 27, 2016 Author Posted July 27, 2016 My feelings at this time are mixed, as foil didn't seem to want to stick to the door panel at all (just like the Ultra Chrome), but I figure that in part, it may have something to do with the door panels being semi gloss and not full gloss, so I've sprayed them both with some gloss now, and I'll try it again later. We'll see what happens, I guess.
