Aaron_F Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Here's my '48 Ford coupe, built in 2012. The paint is Testors One Coat Mythical Maroon with three coats of clear, wet sanded and polished. Enjoy the pics!
Dennis Lacy Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 For a straight out of the box model, this is about as nice as it gets! Beautiful early custom.
Harry P. Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Do you always paint the chassis components red and the mufflers blue?
Dennis Lacy Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Do you always paint the chassis components red and the mufflers blue? The mufflers in these Revell flathead-motored kits are representative of Smithy glass packs which have always come painted hammertone blue since the 40's. Definitely a correct traditional hot rod detail.
Sixties Sam Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Man, that's nice! Great finish, and the seats look very real. Very nice work!Sam
Jantrix Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Very nicely done. Folks are real divided on that top chop but it sure builds up nice.
Aaron_F Posted May 21, 2016 Author Posted May 21, 2016 Do you always paint the chassis components red and the mufflers blue?Currently I only have two finished models with red suspension and blue mufflers, but you might see more in the future. Hahahahaha!
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Nicely done. The color, hubcaps, interior are all very cool. But I'm also one that thinks a chopped top on a '48 Ford is an improvement.
TooOld Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Do you always paint the chassis components red and the mufflers blue? Beautiful , a job well done ! And personally I like the contrast in colors .
BigTallDad Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 No fuzzy dice hanging from the rear-view mirror? Seriously, that is a very well executed build!
Greg Myers Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Do you always paint the chassis components red and the mufflers blue? Maybe he grew up in the fifties
Greg Myers Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Currently I only have two finished models with red suspension and blue mufflers, but you might see more in the future. Hahahahaha! Nothin' wrong with that on quite a few counts.
Mercelo Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 That's a beautiful build, super clean all around. The color suits it well, and the paint job looks outstanding! Nicely done...
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Very nice. I think Revell did a better job on the chop on this one than they did on the '49 Merc. Anyway, beautiful model. Maroon is, to me, one of the two best colors for the '48 Ford, whether standard or custom. Great paint, fine work overall. I'd be proud to have my name on that one.
echo Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Beautiful build, probably the nicest build of this kit I have seen so far !
Dave Van Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Very cool build!!!! Can't wait for the stock body kit. I can build my 1/1 46 with it.
