This one would have been pretty fast ....in 1969. It was the NHRA top speed record holder! Not bad for a barn door!

After some quick math this Stude Carrera racer would likely be the fastest. With an L88 engine, Corvette drivetrain, and that slick (and low weight, only 2860 lbs) Leowy body, this one would be hard to beat on any road course.

This is the fastest, one of my first kits so it isn't came out good, but soon i will build the new tamiya laferrari  FXX K with my new standards

For me, I'd have to post my Vipra for top speed...this is an 8.0 SRT V10 Viper engine in a Toyota supra. (although I do have a turbocharged LS1 supra as well)

I don't build a whole lot of big time drag cars/funny cars/top fuel stuff.. I like more street type stuff. So in my recent builds, I'd have to say it's between my Crusher Camaro, or my '90 Mustang.

You'd need to define "fast" better for me as I believe FAST includes corners. I think most here wouldn't make the first one! 

 

but all look cool and meet one definition of FAST!

Speed is the most important thing!  Except for the F-104 this should do it at 406 mph.

I'm lucky the OP said "fastest vehicle" and not "fastest car."

I've always been proud of the pilot figure in that one (built in the early '80s). Here's a closer look.
