Randy D Posted November 29, 2016 Author Posted November 29, 2016 Hi Folks, Thanks Brian! Ben, Looking forward to your build ! Appreciate the comments Tim, the thin wall tubing is a real game changer for me also ! Hi Shaun, Glad you are following ! Thank you Harry ! Hey JC, Thank you and hope to see more from your bench soon Chris, Thanks for your interest in this one ! Hi Jonathan, Thank you and I am sure you will do this kit proud ! Look forward to seeing you in a few months. Thank you Brettly ! Seth, Thank you for the comments! JT, Thank you Brother Had a big step back shortly after my last summer post. I just could not pull off the candy paint job to my satisfaction. Stripped it and repainted 2 times and finally admitted that I am not John Teresi and went for a more basic paint job. While I was at it I decided that I might as well take my 3 million dollar ' track ' car and enter it in Le Mans The eight different body parts are just mocked up in these pics... Using the seatbelts from the Tamiya add on set... They look okay but I will wrinkle them a bit and hit them with 'Dullcote' and see if I like them. Tamiya includes some rather nice tire decal/ stickers.. Thanks for looking in! Randy
da_ashman Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Looking Amazing!!! Love the new paint job!!
Twokidsnosleep Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 He's back....in black no less Good to see you return to posting I think your candy red would have killed anything I could peter out of an airbrush or spray can but we are all our own worst critics and your skills FAAAAAARRR exceed mine Cheers Randy, great to see this back online
Bennyg Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Wow! That looks mean in those dark colours. Love your work. Ben
Randy D Posted December 2, 2016 Author Posted December 2, 2016 Hi Folks, Ashley, Thank you for commenting ! Hi Scott, Thanks my friend ! We need an update on that new hobby room that comes with a roof over it Ben, Appreciate you following along sir. I had looked at a few different paint schemes on the web when it came out of the stripper tub.... This one really caught my eye with its dark look... Some progress.. The rotors got drilled and added some brass bolts and bits to the calipers. The tires got shot with Dullcote to cut down on the tire decal shine.. Thanks for looking in! Randy
Belugawrx Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Looking good Randy ! The extra details really set this one off Cheers

Timonator Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Incredible work Randy ! The detail is unbelievable. I just now found this thread. I'm struggling with my box stock LaFerrari right now. I tried to do the candy apple red on it. Failed twice and went with the Italian red.
Quick GMC Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 I just got my Hobby Design detail kit for this, still waiting for the FXX K kit. The detail kit is amazing looking. I will be using your build as a guideline for mine, I like the way it's going a lot

Hoping you get a little bench time for that 911GT1 Thanks Lloyd !! James, That means you like it...right? Update... Wheels got value stems and their center pieces and it is now a roller !!! Trying to finish the engine compartment. Adding some fuel system piping detail to the bulkhead. Some ref. pics..... This is the fuel system from the gas tank to the injectors on the 'LaFerrari' plus I have started to add all the wiring and this pipe????? Here is the FXX K, slightly different plumbing... Pieces and parts for my attempt. Pro Tech 'T' fittings/T2M bolts/rbmotion fittings and a couple of scratch built pieces... Thanks for looking in! Randy \
Bennyg Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 I'm in awe. That's simply the best wiring detail I've seen on a model car.Ben
martinfan5 Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Awe inspiring work you are doing, compared to the toys I am building
Codi Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Love the pics you share of the 1:1 and your parts spread out on how you're replicating it. Fantastic job Randy. I think you've got one here that's going to be awesome on the tables. cheers, tim

Hi Cameron, Thank you for the kind words Thanks Jonathan, Glad you are following along ! Hi Tim, Thank you and I wish there were more reference available for this car. Thanks James Bruce, Thank you sir ! Hi Wesley, I can't wait to see the paint on your build Progress.... Test fit of the air intake casting to make sure everything still fits! I think this is the third time I've redone this part.... A reference pic of the fire system.... Replacing the kit part with a white metal piece from the railroad detail parts stash then building up the piping. Using the kit decals... Added some more small bits for the wiring, more to do. Thanks for looking in! Randy
JerseyRed Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Hi Randy,What are you using for hose clamps on the air intake? Needless to say the build looks amazing.
