caine440 Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Still not sure which hood to use so I am making both.
1972coronet Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Looks like another beauty is in the works ! Is that their Modified Production car ?
Snake45 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 (edited) I like where this is going! Will be watching.Reminds me, I need to buy that new S&M book that just came out. If it's got as many great pics as the Grumpy Jenkins book, it'll be a great reference and idea mine. Edited July 2, 2016 by Snake45
superbike-shaun Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Hey RR Roger, (lol) I love your choice to build this one!
caine440 Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 I picked up the book when it first came out and it is indeed a good read. Another great one it the book Sox & Martin put out back in 74 ( think) I am going with what I think was a B/MP car. Still not totally sure.
caine440 Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Johan body, AMT chassis with parts boxes goodies.
Roadrunner Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Johan body, AMT chassis with parts boxes goodies.Nice!
1972coronet Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I thought that it was going to be the M/P car , judging by the crossram induction (Stock and Super Stock required a stock-ish induction , iirc) .

Especially S&M stuff.I also have been meaning to pick up the S&M book on Amazon, hoping it's as good a read/reference as Da Grump's book was. I read that one straight in a couple of days and love the pix.
mustang1989 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Well it definitely looks like you've got the reference material handled Roger. Lookin' forward to this one.
gtx6970 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Ive seen tbis car with the 2 different hoods and just assumed they were 2 seperate cars.An A12 car and a hemi car....????
AC Norton Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 I picked up the book when it first came out and it is indeed a good read. Another great one it the book Sox & Martin put out back in 74 ( think) I am going with what I think was a B/MP car. Still not totally sure. ....this photo was taken at the 69 Winternationals at Pomona......it was actually their 68 RR then retro fitted with new 69 body trim, painted and re lettered. It ran in B/MP class as did Landys 69 Charger, and Landy won the event with Herb McCandless at the wheel, until Landy won in the final pass against Riffles Anglia gasser if I recall. the Sox and Martin RR here apparently rolled off the trailer soon after and was wrecked so I have been told. In the 69 season, though, they also did have a SS/E class hemi car similar but in legal S/S trim, and later a 440 six pack RR too. this timeless photo is one of my all time favorites of any SM car, and its hard to tell in the pic, but I think that's Don Carlton at the wheel.....love your project here, I'm slowly but surely working presently of a 68 RR B/MP car myself.....regards, the Ace.....
Codi Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 That's sharp Roger. I like the stance in particular. cheers

Bob Ellis Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 I met them at a Boston Chyrsler -Plymouth dealer back in the Summer of 1971. My brother reluctantly took me there.
jjsipes Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 (edited) Roger, you'll need to get the new Landy book as well. Got mine this past weekend at Carlisle Chrysler show and it is a great book.https://www.amazon.com/Landys-Dodges-Mighty-Mopars-Dandy/dp/161325248X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1469208652&sr=8-1&keywords=landyGreatGreat looking build by the way. caine440 Posted July 22, 2016 Author Posted July 22, 2016 I have the landy book on order. Looking forward to it.
caine440 Posted August 4, 2016 Author Posted August 4, 2016 Will get the foil and glass tonight if all goes well.
Roadrunner Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Looking great. The only car model that I can recall building that was similar, was a silver and red job, but the name of the driver eludes me right now.
