shoopdog Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Finished my Revell 57 Belair 2n1 kit finally. This was my first attempt at using BMF on all exterior moldings, turned out ok but there's lots of room for improvement. I guess only practice will achieve the results of the quality builds posted online. Sprayed with Model Masters Tropical Turquoise cleared with Future Shine brushed on. Unfortunately the color in the pics looks more light blue than turquoise.
snacktruck67 Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 If this was your first BMF job, you should be proud. You did a fantastic job. Strangely enough my first BMF job was also on a 57.
peekay Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Nice work, I specially like your interior. And welcome to BMF, it really is the way to go.
Sixties Sam Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Looks great! Nice color, and the foil work is good!Sam
Watertown Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) Nicely done!! And I love the color. One thing you may not have been aware of, the 'B' pillars on the BelAir sedans were painted body color—no stainless trim. That said, your car makes me think that maybe they should have. Again, great job! Edited July 4, 2016 by Watertown
DeeCee Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 A very tidy build, great paint and one sweet interior too. Nice job..
shoopdog Posted July 4, 2016 Author Posted July 4, 2016 Thanks guys for all your compliments. I wondered about foiling the B pillars but man they sure were easy!
TooOld Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Looks good to me ! The paint , interior , and the BMF turned out great !
Fanof69 Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Sweet looking '57 Keith!! And ditto to what everyone else said about the BMF work and the interior!!
shoopdog Posted July 5, 2016 Author Posted July 5, 2016 Thanks everyone. There was no way out of not foiling a 57 Chevy, especially when I have 57 Ford next up in my stash.I must of used half of sheet of BMF between getting it right and ripping it off. my biggest problem with trying to start over is I start chipping paint.
