For one, the second thing I verify after I establish stance and rake with the rolling stock is... The fit of the kit glass! Indeed, it is frustrating if a nice build gets marred by poorly fitting glass. The culprit is most often the windshield, and sanding, bending and other measures are often needed. I resit the urge to adjust the glass SURROUND (posts, cowl and roof) to the actual glass. I do the opposite. And I always separate one-piece glass unit to its multiple sections, for ease of adjustment. Good luck! CT CT 1
sidcharles Posted Monday at 01:43 AM Posted Monday at 01:43 AM so after tracing the trim on to the plastic "glass", you would shave/ file the exterior surface [presentation side] around the perimeter thinner to get it to extend outward? from what i see, it's the older, especially AMT, kits which have the deepest & most obvious setback. thanks s.e.

Hi! Most kits, whatever the brand, have glass units that mount from the inside of the body, and rare are those that are beveled to "slide in" the opening. I see what you are looking for, the "flush fit" look. Well, my friend, you'll have to sand and trim to obtain that look. It's possible, just a lot of work (see pic). CT 3

OR, you can go and fabricate a 4 link etc and open up the wheel wells your self, either way, it will be challenging, but satisfying.. ENJOY.. 57 Del Rio, just had to remake the suspension, but kept stock chassis. http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii529/Deecee360/Model%20pics/DSCN0398_zpssfvhp0aq.jpg SS Malibu with a Nascar chassis. http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii529/Deecee360/Model%20pics/NAS-RAT%20003_zpslr8pcbj6.jpg Another Nascar chassis. http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii529/Deecee360/Model%20pics/nomad003_zps8c311b65.jpg Or use a viper as a donor. http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii529/Deecee360/MOPARS/done%20004_zpskzrpkwg1.jpg And just late model wheels and some pro charging.. http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii529/Deecee360/MOPARS/christinedone007_zps24a3c7c3.jpg Or this one that had everything modified. http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii529/Deecee360/MOPARS/DSCF5731_zps3625e3c5.jpg Fantastic group!
