Lowlife ! ! Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Don't know about you, but I was blown away with the Audi used in the film `I Robot` !! I'm quite into concept cars and fancied going a bit mad with one, so when this turned up at my LHS I grabbed it !
Lowlife ! ! Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 Now this is not going to be a copy of that car, although it will feature several ideas, but also a few more from my warped imagination ! So first off I started smoothing the body, thinking of ideas...... Then I purchased some ping pong balls, and cut em all up !!
Lowlife ! ! Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 Been thinking of how to do the extended wheel covers, and ping pong balls were perfect !! Took several attempts and several different shapes before I got this..... Lots of smoothing out to do, I've already covered over the rear lights, and I'm redoing the front light shapes too. More soon........
Nytrozilla Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Bring it on. I've always liked the concept of concept cars.Assuming the paddle provides the Ping and the balls provide the Pong, uh, nice Pongs.
Dragline Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I really dug that car [and all Asimov books], so I'll be watching. That thing looked wicked.
misterNNL Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Great choice for a unique build. Please be sure to update us with photos of your progress. Thanks for sharing.
Lowlife ! ! Posted August 5, 2016 Author Posted August 5, 2016 (edited) Thanks guys ! Going slow at the moment but I'm blending in the arches. More filler and smoothing and it should end up in primer soon. All the panel lines, petrol cap, mirrors, rear lights etc are gone, front lights are going to be re shaped at more of an angle. Here's a pic how it looks at the moment ! Edited August 5, 2016 by Lowlife ! !
Twokidsnosleep Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Yes, what a great concept. Keep going and sharing the progress
