TC Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Heller 1/24 Bentley 4 1/2 liter Tamiya British green and dark green, older build
Richard Bartrop Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 It's a great kit, and that turned out nice.
bbowser Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Well done! Welcome to the forum, hope to see more of your work
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) Beautiful model ! And one of the several most important cars of all time. Yes, beautiful model. Nice work with the paint to represent the metal forward and soft rear bodywork, too. Edited August 15, 2016 by Ace-Garageguy
Gluebomber Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Really nice build. I've had my eye on the Revell Germany Bentley Blower kit. Is it the same as the Heller kit?
unclescott58 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Very nice. Isn't that the basic car that James Bond drove in Flemming's early books on his famous spy?
sjordan2 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Very nice. Isn't that the basic car that James Bond drove in Flemming's early books on his famous spy? Actually, no. It was a sport coupe/roadster with a fixed canvas top in the Fleming book. This kit is a Birkin Team Le Mans Bentley like the one owned by Ralph Lauren, and represented in the 1/12 kit.
BVC500 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Awesome job! Looks like it belongs on the green at Pebble Beach.
sjordan2 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) The Bond Bentley, a convertible coupe, would look more like a battleship gray version of one of these, closer to the one on the bottom. Note that there is a cover over its forward-mounted supercharger. Edited August 18, 2016 by sjordan2
unclescott58 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I love the knowledge people on this site have. I always wondered about Bond's Bently. Now I've got the idea what it is.
