crazyjim Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Weird kit. AMT 60s Sizzle 1968 Plymouth Road Runner - with GTX emblems on the side. Anyway, it's painted with HOK cocoa pearl. It's pretty much out of the box except for engine wiring and wheels. Carbs sit too high and it's impossible to use air filters.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 That's cool. Always liked this body style. Great color also.
Snake45 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Great color! I'd love to find some of that stuff.
Scalper Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I like the paint. Nice work. Whole model looks great.
Can-Con Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Looks good Jim. Love the wheels with the colorsNot just GTX emblems on the side of the body though, That's the '69 GTX body, it's different in some ways than the '68 like the side marker lights, trunk lid and tailights.
DumpyDan Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Well done, great color choice......What a beauty
Mr Stock Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Very nice Jim, great colour choice and those Spyder wheels really suit the car.
bbowser Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Looks great in that color. Did those wheels come in the kit?
crazyjim Posted August 17, 2016 Author Posted August 17, 2016 Thanks Bruce. Spyder wheels are my castings, not the kit.
JTalmage Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Great looking build! But where are the GTX taillight housings? Also, with that intake and carb setup, it was meant to have holes in the hood, which is why they wouldnt fit. If you were wondering. I always love your use of HOK colors.
High octane Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Very nice build on that Plymouth Jim, and I just love dem Mopars!
crazyjim Posted August 17, 2016 Author Posted August 17, 2016 Thanks Jesse. The kit taillights didn't fit so I used some transparent red stuff with BMF backing. The hood has a line underneath for a cutout, but there was no scoop in the kit. That's what I get for trying a different (for me) intake setup.HOK is good struff.
Modlbldr Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 That looks great! Love the color. I have some of that HOK Cocoa Pearl. Nice to see what it looks like on a body. I may have to do my 40 Ford in it.Later-
crazyjim Posted August 17, 2016 Author Posted August 17, 2016 Thanks Tom. I shot the cocoa over Duplicolor sandable primer. It's a fairly dark grey. A '40 Ford would look good in cocoa.
