FordRodnKustom Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Well my version of it anyway. I started out with this simple kit. I started building it and painted it a few years ago then put it all back in the box until last week. I didn't like that paint job very much....probably why it sat in the box for so long. I stripped the body and repainted it a few days ago and I liked that a lot better. The new paint gave me the motivation to finish it up. Not super detailed or anything, just a basic shelf build with a few modifications and parts added. Thanks for checking it out. As always comments and discussion welcome.
bobthehobbyguy Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Nice. Super clean. Nice choice on color.
AC Norton Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 great looking build....one of the best of this kit I've ever seen done.......love it, the Ace.....
D. Battista Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 First one I've seen built looks cool..... You did a nice job with it..!!
oldcars Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 I have had that kit for years and never opened it up due to almost everyone saying it was pretty much a waste of plastic. After checking your good looking job out I'm thinking I should open it up and plan on a build. You did a great job.Richard
1930fordpickup Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 I like this. Are these the kit wheels?
Modelbuilder Mark Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 I like the looks of that. I am from the GM factory town of Anderson, IN and the takes me back to the 70s when I would sometimes go to our high-banked 1/4 mile oval Sun Valley Speedway and watch the cars run.
Old Coyote Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 Very nice build sir ........... I really like it
slusher Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Great build. I have never seen but a couple of these built and they was eBay glue bombs...
FordRodnKustom Posted November 22, 2016 Author Posted November 22, 2016 I like this. Are these the kit wheels? Thanks all! And Andy no, I cobbled these wheels together and then cast a few sets in resin. You can see more about that if you're interested here in this photo album of one of my other modified builds. Thanks for asking,http://public.fotki.com/bigfordpilot/my_built_model_cars/built_models/built-models/7x_coupe/
Snake45 Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 These things aren't my cup of tea at all, and I only clicked on this thread just to see what someone had done with the old Falcon. WOW! What a clean looking model! One of the nicer things I've seen on here in the last month or so. Well done and model on!
1930fordpickup Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Those look even better in your photos on foki Nice work on the wheels.
Draggon Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 (edited) Excellent work, Ron. Sure looks a whole lot better with correct wheels and tires, and properly lowered! Edited November 23, 2016 by Draggon
afx Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Nice work Ron. Are those Plastic Performance Products (PPP) wheels & tires?
FordRodnKustom Posted March 31, 2017 Author Posted March 31, 2017 Nice work Ron. Are those Plastic Performance Products (PPP) wheels & tires? Thanks JC, No, I cobbled them together myself then made castings.
ChrisBcritter Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Excellent work on the wheels and tires; the originals never looked quite right. The black wash really makes the details pop. If you cut out the inner fender panels, did you save them? I could use the shock towers for the Moebius Comet...
