Sixties Sam Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 That is looking great! Love the seat - lots of character!Sam
junkyardjeff Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 I might have to build one too since i do have some A parts.
Tom Geiger Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 (edited) I'm a fan of Doodle Bugs, in fact I have one about half done. I like the way you finished it. As far as the restored ones, that's like changing history as I don't think they ever started out looking that way. I can see farmers doing the mechanical work they needed to do, adding seats and other pieces from stuff they had around, but not spending time and money in making them pretty. bobthehobbyguy Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Love it being weathered. As saidvthe restored really miss the point. You take parts that you have and make something useful. Could see it painted with rattle cans but not really trying to make it look pretty. Nice work.
D. Battista Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Thanks guys! I got more finished & I'm in the home stretch. More wiring plumbing paint & scratch built seat. I really like how you finished this.... IMO this looks much better than shiny new.... Great work and detail..!!
mchook Posted January 8, 2017 Author Posted January 8, 2017 Thanks guys! I added a bumper, step & I'm working on the hood. I need to paint it but it's still about 10 degrees out so not today. I'm working on a trailer for it too. I think I'm going to make it full of fence posts & barbed wire.
junkyardjeff Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 I am working on one while paint and glue dry non other projects, mine is going to get a semi rear end and dual wheels since that is what I have and is going to be a combination of Monogram and AMT A parts.

junkyardjeff Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Here is what mine will look like,I would like to find a older set of rear tires but these are what I have right now. I need to make a firewall and find a hood, going to leave the frame full length so I can attach a bumper with a tow hook and this thing is going to look cobbled togather.
mchook Posted January 9, 2017 Author Posted January 9, 2017 Your off to a great start! Your building it like a real one, using whatever you have for parts. If you don't have it, build it. I've seen them with plywood firewalls & old road signs for hoods. Anything goes & nothing is wrong. It won't be long & it will be ready to go to work.
junkyardjeff Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 I kind of wish I never seen this on as has taken on a life of its own and I stopped on the other projects to finish it.mine is going to look like it has a rebuilt motor.
junkyardjeff Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Where did the rear wheels come from, what I am using looks too new.
mchook Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 Where did the rear wheels come from, what I am using looks too new.I got them on ebay. They are resin & the first time I've used them but they're real nice. Check them out.http://www.ebay.com/itm/201473658693?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
mchook Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 Got the trailer about done & made a pick, sledge hammer, shovel, post hole digger & fence posts. Next is the barbed wire & maybe some more goodies.
misterNNL Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Great build and thinking outside the box creativity. The rust, dust and wear are very appropriately done. Thanks for sharing!
