Here's a Custom 56 Ford, i built this year with mostly all boxed parts. I did strip all the chrome, and replaced it with Alclad Chrome. Steel Wheels are from the parts box, and have been shot with Alclad, I painted the Wide White Walls, on the tires. I built the Continental kit from Evergreen Styrene , except for the Tire cover. It's from the parts box. lowering this Bad Boy is a Chore!! , But I got there!!. Thanks for looking and Enjoy :)

Pretty cool custom! I like the skirts, whitewalls, and connie kit - very late 50's period stuff. The chain steering wheel is a cool touch! I think I would black wash the grille a bit if it was mine. Nice work!

Thanks Everyone. i have built several 56 Ford kits over the years. I had never seen anyone use the Custom parts in the kit. Well I had to try it.... :) The color is Model Master Enamel  "Pearl Blue" over white primer. and a few coats of Model Masters Enamel " High Gloss Clear". the Interior colors are mixed Craft Acrylic paints, and with some light blue flocking. Thanks Again, I'm glad you all like it. :) :)

I used some of them in this 56 in 2009.

Love it!! I almost painted mine Pink and White. I thought about it hard for a few days. Love the Merc tail lights, too.

Overall, the car looks good with the kit's custom parts (even tough the stock Ford design is much superior) and the color choice suits the custom vibe pretty well.

I'm not much of a fan of the crown Victoria Skyliner, just because of the crown. Always though it kind of ruins the nice "flow" the car has all around with a unnecessary design add on. Of course, if you didn't ask for A/C you would regreat the Skyliner for another reason...

On a custom, the crown works better than on the factory stock car, as it goes well with the vibe the new front end gives the car.

The interior color combo is also very nice, as is the cool detail of the carpeting.

The foil work on the roof, by other hand needs redone. The model deserves it.

Think that if you first glue the clear insert on the roof, and only latter, do the foiling, you will have a more stable base to work the foil, and the flexing of the plastic won't cause problems.

That's what I do when foiling a convertible's windshield pillars. First glue the glass, then foil the chrome. Works like a charm.

Very nice Floyd. I love those old school AMT kustoms that you could build straight out of box like that. The only thing I don't care for on your build is the chain steering wheel. But, then again I've never liked that look no matter what I've seen it on. That's just a matter of personal taste. The model looks great.

Thanks Everyone, i really enjoyed building this one. I'm kind of new to the Custom building in this style. Lovefordgalaxies, Thanks for the tip on doing the foil that way, because I fought with this one really hard, to keep from breaking it!! :) This actually the 2nd body for this build. i broke the first one before it got painted. Good thing I have a pile of them LOL!! I never thought about installing the glass first. Duh!! LOL!! that just goes to show you, your never to old to learn. I've mostly built Drag cars, and Semi stock Muscle Cars.  The Paint hasn't had anything done to the clear. I did color sand the Blue with 2,000 grit before I shot the clear, and Guys I absolutely Hate doing BMF!!  But I love the look when it is finished. I may do another one soon, if I do i will do a few things different, than I did on this one. Thanks Again :)
