Chuck Most Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 This is the '82 MPC annual kit. Other than being lowered and fitted with the wheels and tires from the '82 Cavalier kit (the same actual '82 Cavalier kit which became the Civilier posted elsewhere) it is box stock. Paint is Testors Ice Blue.
JerseyRed Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 The Ice Blue is a really nice color, I'll have to keep it in mind, for the future. I like the wheels too. Did you airbrush or brush paint the trim? It looks sharp.
bbowser Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 I like it! I always thought the EXP was a neat little car, kinda like the Fiero.
donb Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 I like it! I always thought the EXP was a neat little car, kinda like the Fiero.Me too!
cobraman Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Looks good ! You don't see that kit too often.
mikemodeler Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 I am shocked! A Chuck Most build that isn't rusted, weathered or heavily modified! Looks great Chuck, a few friends had one of those as a daily driver. No power but got good gas mileage!
Jon Cole Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Nice! Nice... but, where's the trademark rust?
espo Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Very interesting build. Don't remember ever seeing one of these built before. The color happens to be one of my favorites , and the wheels give it an aggressive look. I know little about the 1:1 car, but the rear looks very much like a Mustang.
kelson Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 I like the color, somewhere in my stash I have the Revell version.
Davewilly Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 looks really good! the Blue is just for it!
Chuck Most Posted December 3, 2016 Author Posted December 3, 2016 Thanks guys! The Ice Blue is a really nice color, I'll have to keep it in mind, for the future. I like the wheels too. Did you airbrush or brush paint the trim? It looks sharp. For the trim, I brush painted the silver parts, then went over the black with a chisel-point permanent marker. It's not 100% even, but it's the only way my ham fists can get a presentable finished result on such trim.
DumpyDan Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Boy never thought this kit would look this good, remembering the box you have done wonders, nice choice of wheels.
Sixties Sam Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Nice! Great color and very clean build.Sam
